Yep, none of Dembele, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Walker, Wanyama, Eriksen etc were replaced with similar quality, not even close to it. The same will happen when Kane and Son leave also.

Our squad is so weak there is no competition for places, which is never a good thing. Conte was getting the absolute best out of this squad and was unable to take it any further due to not being given the players he needed.

The same will happen with the next coach.

No news on the manager front is a disgrace aswell - if we’re waiting for someone in particular then let the fans know - say “we’re waiting until the summer for someone who is already in a role” - other wise bring someone in immediately

I mentioned Poch in the context that he wasn't backed by Levy...Isn't that true? Why wasn't arguably the best manager Spurs had for the past 10 years backed by Levy??

Exactly!

We were hanging on to CL qualification and needed the chairman and management react quickly to Conet getting sacked to ensure we stay in contention for CL, and yet Levy decided to give it a rookey and save some money!
Utter disgrace only worsened by a chairman who does not see himself at fault for the shenanigans at the club.

The worst attempt at trying to replace a player is Walker. We've had 5 replacements now, or 6 if you include Spence, and each one has been a little bit worse than the next. I mean I'm in danger of writing Porro off too early but he's been another disappointment so far.

Since Trippier, who has since shown he was never as bad as the fans thought, we have spent in excess of 120m trying to fix the right back problem and are still no better than when we had him all those years ago.

Nothing wrong with Porro - but he is a creative wing back in the TAA mould, he is not a top defender. But as usual there is no one at the club putting these things together so we play as a bunch of blokes with zero cohesion rather than as a team.

At Sporting if Porro went forward then Ugarte filtered across to cover for him. At Spurs if Porro goes forwards, Kulisevski sulks, Kane drops so far back that Lloris is ahead of him and Son gives the ball away

Staggering from Levy that Poch is there and is probably one manager who could reunite the Spurs fans right now, and galvanise the club and yet he is dithering in offering a contract to Poch?

Levy probably thinks giving Poch the contract would concur that sacking him in the first place was a mistake. Irrelevant where we were when he got the sack. You don;t sack the manager that got us regularly fighting for the title and CL final, just because of 1 potential bad season?

Has he even been that good going forward though? He scored a goal in a game and took a good free kick once. Not that much otherwise to boast about.

Anyway, it is too early so I won't properly judge. Kind of easy to write our full backs off though with our history of them. Arguably no full backs bought better than the backs ups for peak Walker and Rose - Trippier and Davies, who we had back in 2015.

Trippier, criminally under rated. Had a really poor season with us towards the end but look what he’s done at Atletico and Newcastle? Brilliant player

Yeah and we found out that in that poor season he was hampered by injury. I always thought he was harshly scapegoated by fans at the time anyway. Take away his defensive lapses he was fairly consistent when it came to good delivery into the box and we haven't seen that on the right side since.

I am sure Porro will come good. This is his first few games in the PL, and he does need adjusting. He has been used kind of as a scapegoat by Stelinni.

I don't understand why Levy let Walker go.

Similarly, don't understand why we didn't approach Eriksen at Brentford?

Levy has this complex issue and has problems accepting he may be wrong!

Let walker go?

He wanted to go ….why Poch dropped him for trippier…didn’t he even hand in a transfer request ?

Levy is to blame for lots of things but losing walker is not one of them

Yes, that was at the end if I a recall...Initially, Walker asked for more money, rightfully as City were prepared to offer him a lot more. I believe Levy laughed at him, and led to him putting in a transfer request.

Just shows the low quality of players around if you think Trippier is brilliant. He is bog standard average.

But then you reckoned Porro was going to be the game changer.

I can't see why not? Under Poch, Dier and Sanchez looked class and he turned Winks into a classy midfielder (who can't forget that performance against Barca?)

A good coach can turn average players into very good ones. Look at Pep. Ake was bang average and now looks a very good one. Same with Grealish. The list goes on.
Yet we are not saying Poch working with this set of players only, of course, the club has to invest in new quality players as well. Get Poch back and back him properly now that the stadium is built and we can then start re-building the team.
Not doing so is negligence from a chairman of a football club.

What Arsenhole asked this......
"I don't understand why Levy let Walker go."
Walker insisted on moving to a club closer to his family.
It was "I'm going so sell me..."
