The celtic minded pundits in the media afew years ago were spouting never mind 10 celts will get to 15 in a row.
Was said as well rangers would need 80 million just to catch up.
Well done to celtic for being the dominant force except for the 10 in a row season.
It's all swings and roundabouts with celtic and Rangers and beale will get this summer to get rid of the deadwood and I will judge him on his first full season after the clearcut that is going to occur.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nobody couuld have foresaw covid though.
No offence without the fans your team of underachievers thrived.
If covid didnt happenceltic would be on for 20 plus titles
I know Celtic fans went down to their car park to attack the Celtic bus when things weren’t going well, and we have folk in our fan base that are embarrassments too, but surprised to see someone saying that is what we should be doing

Think it is good for Rangers having a clear out. If nothing else psychologically it sends the message things are gonna change around here cf Lennon & Lawwell + half the squad.
Either that or they're gonna bin the academy anaw - let's face it produced next to fck all for the 1st team, costs > £1m a year and fans constantly moaning about the performances.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To be fair they did get around £4m for Patterson.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aye we must’ve done well to make 7m of profit on sale of Jones, Bacuna, Edmundson, Docherty then
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's not a shred of evidence anywhere that you got anywhere near the reported fee for him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty sure accounts showed 11m of profits on player sales in year. Not sure what other players that’d be in that calendar year… So pretty good evidence that 11m would relate to Patterson and not the other players I listed, and that’s then consistent with majority of sources.
But aye you know better

Celtic will never be further ahead of us than they were when we were 4 divisions apart or even pre Gerrard when there were back to back 5-0 and 4-0 wins and the gulf in quality of squads was massive.
Scottish football has 2 teams that can win the league and a glass ceiling that prevents either from pulling away. If Rangers were to win the league next season it would be a surprise but not one of unseen proportions.

It did. Patterson contributed to a profit on player transfers of £11m. Given that there were other transfers too, his fee must have been significantly less than what was reported, as the £11m would have included any wishful add-ons.

My comment is more for those that believe that things will just change naturally-they don’t. There has to be a combination of circumstances that allows that to happen.
You probably won’t have noticed, but I’ve never bought into any chat at any time of any team being light years ahead of the other. Even before rangers last won the league, I commented that things can change very quickly-as we saw.

well here's the problem.
If you are talking about actual money received, rather than some notional future add-ons, then there's no actual sign of the £11m being received anywhere.
It's also hard to see how the 'multi-million' compensation received for Gerrard and his back-room team is recorded or received.
I've also been called daft on here for saying that you would go bust and you'd get nothing for Morelos, Kent or Goldson. I'm getting used to it.

No they don't change naturally. Rangers are behind Celtic just now as a club and need a rebuild from top to bottom. That might take some time to work through and who comes in might or might not be upgrades on what went before.
I just mean historically though both teams have had periods of dominance and the other has never really gone away. So Celtic might enjoy a few more years of being on top, or maybe this is the pinnacle before a Rangers comeback.
That's the beauty of football, its fairly unpredictable and never stays the same too long.

Probably because most deals now are structured in installments. If Rangers got £11m for Patterson we wouldn't actually receive £11m when he moved. It will be £11m over a period of months or years depending on whats agreed.
Whats reported is normally the agreed transfer fee rather than evidence of a transaction.
Cup final moved to half 5. That’s probably just as bad for the ICT fans trying to get home.

To be fair they did get around £4m for Patterson.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Aye we must’ve done well to make 7m of profit on sale of Jones, Bacuna, Edmundson, Docherty then
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There's not a shred of evidence anywhere that you got anywhere near the reported fee for him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Pretty sure accounts showed 11m of profits on player sales in year. Not sure what other players that’d be in that calendar year… So pretty good evidence that 11m would relate to Patterson and not the other players I listed, and that’s then consistent with majority of sources.
But aye you know better
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It did. Patterson contributed to a profit on player transfers of £11m. Given that there were other transfers too, his fee must have been significantly less than what was reported, as the £11m would have included any wishful add-ons.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What other transfers? Jones, Bacuna, Edmundson, Docherty?
Obviously they wouldn’t recognise profit for an add-on they are not entitled to yet, or may never get.
What a daft take. Clear evidence, and clearly wouldn’t include add-ons for which there is no current obligation.

I know Celtic fans went down to their car park to attack the Celtic bus when things weren’t going well, and we have folk in our fan base that are embarrassments too, but surprised to see someone saying that is what we should be doing
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can protest without resorting to violence. I didn't think it was necessary to state that explicitly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We did. Think the protests this time round were fairly effective given the scale of change since. Not something we have been particularly good at over the years.

Should be a good game. Rangers under 18s have been quite poor this season but there is a lot of individual talent in the group. Not sure how strong Celtic are but think they have had a similar season.

They are swings and roundabouts tbf if you look over the history of both clubs. I think all we can take from that is people are deluded if they think Celtic have swanned off in to the sunset never to be caught.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
My comment is more for those that believe that things will just change naturally-they don’t. There has to be a combination of circumstances that allows that to happen.
You probably won’t have noticed, but I’ve never bought into any chat at any time of any team being light years ahead of the other. Even before rangers last won the league, I commented that things can change very quickly-as we saw.

Think it is good for Rangers having a clear out. If nothing else psychologically it sends the message things are gonna change around here cf Lennon & Lawwell + half the squad.
Either that or they're gonna bin the academy anaw - let's face it produced next to fck all for the 1st team, costs > £1m a year and fans constantly moaning about the performances.

well here's the problem.
