Going off piste, but on the subject of accounts, there’s yer SNP finally announcing new auditors … some Asian mob in Manchester that nae cant’s heard of. No auditor in Scotland would touch them with a barge pole. Aye, nothing to see here Humza.

I had forgotten Gerrard to be fair. But still daft to say the fee was 4m or that any obligations not yet met would be included in that 11m. Caption is also player registrations and accounting policy for registrations only mentions players, so not sure management team are included in that and recognised as assets. Can’t be bothered to check that, would seem a strange accounting omission if it did given the reported 2/3m for Gerrard.

Personally happy we didn’t sell them in 2021. Was worth it for the memories of our Europa league final run, financially that was big for us as well.

‘I just mean historically though both teams have had periods of dominance and the other has never really gone away.’

There is not a chance that Audit firm have the scale and resources to complete the Audit properly within the timeframe required.

that would have been a great time for a final if it was an Old firm game

Doubt the polis would agree but FFS the SFA should GTF. Just come out and admit they're doing it for the sponsors and TV audience, keep them onside cos they pay the SFA coffers. Of course the implication is fans can GTF instead. Some fans will have made arrangements already. Thing is this was a conflict long before the weekend.

Way hey, fans in pubs in England will switch over to our cup and laugh at the riddy of the opposition. Result

On the pitch, comparing best XI’s, probably not. Overall squads, and off the pitch, I’d say there’s a fair gulf.

Indeed. If I hadn’t given up my practising certificate I might have offered to give it a go though … for a very large fee.

Probably true. Unless this Donald Trump takeover rumour wildly turns out to be true

Cup final moved to half 5. That’s probably just as bad for the ICT fans trying to get home.

We managed to win a title when the gulf was a lot bigger than it is now, because of poor management on your part more than anything really

So no...the gulf isn't that big
The appointment of Ange is what has opened it up again...if he leaves, the gap between the sides on the pitch could close pretty quickly if you don't get the next managererial appointment right

posted on 3/5/23

Tut tut, the amount of bears wishing/hoping/imagining that Ange will leave Celtic so the gap will narrow. 😂😂😂

Nonsense. The gulf was eroded in terms of funds for management support throughout the preceding Gerrard tenure until he finally landed it. That’s cost probably over £20m in lost fees for Morelos and Kent. Worth it? Only you can decide.

The gap off the park which enables the clubs to do something radical is hugely significant. And it’s getting wider.

Let’s see what budget Beale gets and compare it to what we can spend if we need to and then tell me there’s no gulf.

Sure there can be upsets and the most financially stable or healthy club doesn’t always win the league; but it’s getting more and more regular or how else do you explain our trophy haul comparison over these past years?

Miles ahead.

Pretty sure the majority of Scots don’t support the coronation. Although not sure enough that I’m going to go and hunt down the survey.
