It depends on whether someone better comes in and whether Xhaka would accept a bit part role in the side next season

I still think he has at least one more season in him

I think Arsenal fans need to accept that if we are to improve out squad then players have to leave.
See people damn the idea of Tierney being sold, or Balogun, and now Xhaka, but the hard fact is we have too many >21s with the likes of Saliba, Saka, Martinelli and Balogun reaching the age where they are no longer exempt from the squad rules.

Worth keeping around but more to fill up the squad.

Ideally sign a better version of him to progress the squad and keep him as a squad player.

Your team is a couple of top class players short of really being there, and they need to be additions rather than replacements in order to compete on different fronts.

Yes, Arsenal are selling Xhaka to buy the world class Scottish player, Scott McTominay from Man Utd.

It wouldn’t make any sense to sell Xhaka, this has been his best season for us & with the Champions League next season we will need him regardless of who we can buy.

This has been his best season but it has hardly been the best season a player in that role can perform.
Buy an improvement and keep Xhaka then you are almost certainly saying goodbye to ESR.
And Xhaka has not proven he can do a back up role, a lot of players find it tough when they aren't playing regularly.

I'd rather buy the improvement and keep the younger players.

Or the magic spells required to turn a Declan Rice into a McTominay.

To give you your dues, Declan might be a wee bit stronger and faster than McT so he has that

fred is on another level.

but lets stick to McT since you brought him up.

Your best player and saviour Rice....
has less medals than McT
plays for a lesser team than McT
has less goals in a similar role for club than McT
has less goals despite playing in a more attacking role for country than McT.
earned less than McT

Oh dear it might actually be that West Hams greatest player might actually still be poorer than one of Man Utd worst players. well done in creating that one chief

Think Xhaka is the least of our worries this year tbh, he's a solid starter in the system we just need someone who can rotate with him a little more often. If ESR can do that job, that would be great and then next year we can look to bring in someone to upgrade on Xhaka and push ESR to improve further.

For now Xhaka is doing well, is a good character round the squad and isn't really close to being one of the weaknesses in the squad we need to address.

Declan Rice is younger than Mc Tominay... Not bad for a player played over 40 games for England...

Then again, England are a better team than Scotland..

of course they are better and playing more games in that better team in a more advanced role he has scored less goals than McT who has played less games in a poorer team and yet still outperformed him.

well done Einstein

I'd say he's actually the weakest player in our best XI. With that in mind, surely he's a good candidate for an upgrade?

As DJ said, as good as Xhaka has been, part of that is against the context of the player he was before this season. If there's money to be had that could be reinvested I wouldn't hesitate to sell him.

that despite the stats and the achievments Rice might be equal to McT.

Get another West Ham fan to back that up or agree with you and I will consider your stance.
