Tomorrow has a must-win feel about it. We can’t afford any mistakes really between now. Failure to make the CL now would be a huge let down.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A glance at the table shows that we can, in fact, make at least two mistakes (loses) and still get top 4.
I’ve not seen anyone saying it’s already job done, but the types that are saying I told you so about it being a difficult run in are just going over the top when you look at the fixtures and mathematics
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Probably aimed at me.
I don’t think it is over the top when you have watched us play for the last month. And I am certainly not suggesting it is a difficult run in because it isn’t.
Yes we should get over the line but I have been around long enough to spot the warning signs that suggest we could screw it up.
The one thing I have been consistent with since January was that top four would be a bit of a struggle. I would love to not be right.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s aimed at all of you they’ve been beating this drum for a while.
Quite why you needed to s use the term “know it alls” just because others don’t share your view is beyond me though.
Everyone who’s been disagreeing with you or the other guys about this have done so with logic and reasoning, but far from a know it all attitude.

Honestly think half the goals we concede away from home usually any decent goalkeeper doesn’t cause it.
https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/total_high_claim
14 high claims all season and most of the crosses we face are 2 yards in front of him as he usually leaves it to our defenders to defend. Remember Brentford away he was basically inside the goal from an easy to deal with cross.đ

People say how great Klopp is but he literally had the best goalkeeper in the world in goal last few years. For a team going for the title last season to face so many one on ones is remarkable.

I agree with you it seems impossible from before the Spurs game that United could phuq this up, and that looking at Pidiers article page that Liverpool could get on a winning run to the end of the season, but Im telling you what you probably know, but from my presepective anyway and I have supporterd and watched United for a very, very long time and seen the entire lot, that often as a football club have to win and achieve things the hard way. Your views are not that far off mine, by the way. We slightly disagree about Eriksen as I think there are types of games we shouldn’t play him.
I think we will still get top four but I also think we are going to limp over the line to get there. I hope I am wrong and we get a good win tomorrow and then win the next few after.
We have done better than I expected at the start of the season though so what ever happens I will be ok with it.

We will need to win tomorrow because as I have explained to our know it alls we have to assume Liverpool are not going to drop any points with their run in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well you only need 3 wins from your last 5 games, and that’s assuming Liverpool win all their games and Newcastle match your results. So you don’t need to win tomorrow at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think it's more that if we were to lose, our form since February doesn't suggest we have it within us to win 3 from our last 4. They're not the mentally strongest bunch
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bats understands this perfectly well. He was opting to be a pillock as usual.

you are a point ahead of Liverpool, 2 games in hand, 3 extremely winnable home games on paper and I’m the pillock for thinking top 4 is done.

You just need 9 points from 5 games. It’s done an dusted we left it too late.

What Liverpool fans claim on this forum and what they actually believe aren't quite aligned. They certainly seem to be taking a keen interest in both United and Newcastle's results.
I’m not worried about top 4.
The cup however could be a massacre if city turn up on form. That said, they don’t like playing against defensive counter attacking teams so if ETH plays that way we have a chance, if he doesn’t it could be brutal I suppose we can console ourselves that it will be the least of pep’s priorities

The annoying thing is that they'll seal the league with a couple of games to spare, so will be able to rest players. In fact, I'll go out on a limb and say they'll be confirmed as champions before we are confirmed top 4, which I'm far less convinced of than you are.
If we can get something out of today then I'm confident, with a full week before the Wolves and Bournemouth ganes, that we can get two wins there. Two wins ans three draws will be enough and we've only once this season failed to collect nine points from a group of six games. Lose tonight though and we'll need three wins from four and the pressure would be on.
Let's hope we have our shooting boots on tonight and are able to get the job done. I'd even consider Weghorst tonight at CF and bring the likes of Martial on when the game could be a little more open late on.
We should all know by now we never make it easy!
We simply don't score goals when the carthorse is on the pitch. It's a shame he doesn't ever seem to get even a slight niggle to remove the nuclear option of bringing him on.
My patience with him ran out a long time ago. His only attribute is pressing and he does that at such a slow trot that he's easily bypassed. He doesn't win much in the air, his touch is average at best so his holdup play isn't an asset either. Being likable isn't enough sadly and it's obvious we are a better team without him on the pitch at any time.
I agree about today though. If we don't lose, we should be fine. Hopefully we win though

He seems to struggle with the difference between something that is likely and something that is ‘done’.

You just need 9 points from 5 games. It’s done an dusted we left it too late.

It ain't done. I am just glad we still got 3 home games left. Just hoping we win all our games and scrape 3rd.

Looks like Emery can help us out this season.

Without wishing to get all Hafi about it, based on our points total so far we would be on course to get 9.5 points from 5 games, I believe.
Hardly done and dusted.
