On the fans demanding success I agree with him.

I speak as a fan that sees success as a bonus nor an expectation and I have never demanded success, always dreamt, hoped or wished for it but never demanded nor expected it.

He has made mistakes, every one of the 4 owners I have known since I have been going have, some were truly disliked during their time at the club. Given the money anyone of us would claim to do better, we would get just as much criticism.

Only a fool invests 4.25 billion in a club to make mistakes. He will hopefully learn from them mistakes, the first thing he has to learn is one of the first lessons we all learn in life, you can never please everyone.

We have a noisy element of fans these days (of all ages, locations and experience) that question almost every decision or choice made, have little or no patience and are very demanding.

A very good article ifarka, It brings to mind the old adage about not expecting the Yanks to look after you, they will always look after themselves first !

JFDI,

My issue with his view that the fans should be patient because of:

1: The process.

2: What more could he have done, spending 600m?

3: He and his consortium are working it out ?

But as i can read it, fans disenchantment stems from the abstract poor decision making not from a lack of success.

The poor decision making has left the club, floundering, no European football at any level.

How long will it take for the club to straighten out the squad into a 24 man unit that can first regain top four status, considering the trajectory of our main rivals, Mcity, Afc, Mutd, Lvp, Nwcatl, let alone Brighton &Villa.

The squad is disjointed , the new manager may need another 300/ 400m worth of players to put the squad right and i beleive the 400m of footballers we need to move on will be an issue, also the long term amortisation of players on 8 yr contracts is something im not sure will work.

Us as life long supporters know how this goes, we all know that Mr Boehly has put the club onto very uncertain territory. Nothing is certain and the big clubs in the epl & europe will take advantage of the consortiums poor decision making imo!

I saw the interview, what struck me the most was the guy has zero idea, absolutely zero. The telling bit for me was when he talked about how they had to learn how the portuguese market worked, the Italian market, the German market - what was the lesson Todd, offer them all the money you have until they say yes, what was actually learnt.

I think you’ve been sold a pup of an owner who is going to very much destroy the work Roman did - obviously I am delighted, but I don’t think I am being unbalanced in this opinion based on what I saw

How do we know it is poor decision making? We do not have access to near enough information to know.

I would not have got rid of Tuchel but I was unaware of issues going on behind the scenes even though I could plainly see that towards the end of last season and a shocking pre season that things weren't right.

I would not have chosen Potter but I did subscribe to the need for him to be given time, more time than he got for various reasons. The process does take time, look at how United and Arsenal have done over the last 10 to 20 years.

We had lots of other factors that have put us where we are, transfer embargoes, delay of stadium development, sanctions, injuries etc.

These things don't just dissappear. I think his biggest mistake is pandering to all the noise, be it generated by fans, pundits or media. Unfortunately he can't go about this without the attention he has as we aren't a team that flies under the radar, never have been, ignored sometimes in the past but no longer.

Oh and maybe he should be more like Roman in not giving interviews and just get on with the job at hand. He will get us there, we just have to be patient.

More money than brains. A typical yank in over his head. I expect the same with Leeds if the 49er's don't back out.

I'd rather have Boehly than Levy all day long. Yes he's currently as green as the grass and is having to learn some salutary lessons about not trying to fix things which weren't broken and how our game in this country works, but Levy has always had a two-bob, corner shop mentality to running Spurs and I don't think he will ever change and learn the lessons that he needs to, and the only answer for them as a Club, is to try and get rid of him and that doesn't look like happening anytime soon.

We had 19 years of Mr. A and if any Club has ever had a better owner than that, then I'm all ears. City fans are probably pretty happy with theirs also, although they may possibly have problems ahead.

I think in summary our new owners should have been humble and wise enough to anticipate they had much to learn before arrogantly and naively splashing 600m, possibly but hopefully not all down the toilet, and making so many huge decisions in such a short space of time.

They needed to take a much longer and harder look at the landscape instead of kicking the feckin doors down and steaming in.

Genuine question.

What does how well or badly Spurs’ owners are doing relate to Chelsea?

Totally agree with this Biggish. Chelsea being available to buy was not as a result of the Club being in decline, which would often be the reason that owner's might want to sell, so the current infrastructure wasn't something that obviously needed looking at, because as Gary Neville described it "Chelsea was a successful, well run Club" and the intelligent approach would have been to just tweak what wasn't working and leave the rest alone until you had fully had the opportunity to evaluate it's worth.

Gotta agree with this even though the comment was fine, Spurs fans wanting it both ways.

I know he's a wum but Sandy's recent approach on us sums it up. Spent two decades howling into the abyss about how our financial advantage made competition with us meaningless, then someone comes along who makes Abramovich look like a peasant & we go backwards - the narrative has to change sharpish

Because certain Spurs fans need to understand they aren't sh!t because other clubs have certain advantages over them. They're sh!t because they're sh!t
