Great Post sandy. I would say its amazing that Chelsea fans forget that their FA Cup and Cup winners Cup wins pre-Roman were bought with borrowed money that almost bankrupted the club, but it isn't, because most of them only started supporting Chelsea in 2005.

"If Pep really wants to challenge himself, he should try his hand at winning something at Spurs."

This is like when you complete a game and then decide to playthrough it again on the hardest difficulty.

The way I look at it is is: could I, someone with no football manager experience, do that?

The answer is a respunding yes. Southampton winning a PL match is a bigger achievement.

United have spent 1.5bn over the last decade why havent you managed them ?

Man City have spent fractionally more than united have over the last decade, (city have recouped more in transfers) i think net spend in the last decade United have spent the most.

So do you create articles suggesting that you would win a treble at united and Southampton winning a game is a better achievement than united winning a treble??

Of course City have bought their way to success, and flouted the rules along the way, but what they have done on the pitch has been achieved through great coaching and great football, they have not been dragged along to glory by the officials, like what Varpool & Penited are.

Nobody outside of City likes the way they have done it, but they have built a superb football team, and without any help from the refs.

its very rare that the teams that win the league are not one of the financial big boys of the league for whatever reason.

Its almost unheard of that teams with much much lesser budgets win a league

Pep is an interesting case as a manager. He has a very distinct philosophy of how he wants his team to play, but he requires very technical players to achieve it. He managed 3 of the world richest and biggest clubs, who had the pick of excellent players
If Pep came to a club like spurs, he obviously would struggle more, particularly with players like Hojbjerg, Dier, who have very limited technical ability. But the rest of the squad may flourish

The other thing people forget about Pep is he’s a brilliant man manager. What strikes me about his successful sides is how hungry they are for more success much like Fergies great teams
Watching that semi final last night, I was stunned when they were still pressing high and intensely even at 3-0 up into injury time ….and they scored from it.

But it's not exactly hard for City to bring in the sort of characters that can still maintain hunger for success. Managers at lesser clubs often have to gamble on more questionable characters. Would Pep have inspired Balotelli or jese Rodriguez to maintain their hunger for trophies?

the exact same can be said about Man United.

Man City are living the life that Man Utd have enjoyed for the past 50 years or so. Your net spend is still larger than theirs and so is your wage bill.

So it shouldnt exactly be hard for ETH either

He has actually improved players too, unlike Mourinho and Conte who demand fully functioning world class players

the myth that Mourinho hasnt improved players .......Plenty of players have performed better when they played under Mourinho than they had been at previous clubs.

Lampard improved massively under Mourinho.

He did the same with Drogba, Terry and many others

Just cannot rate Guardiola until he has actually built a team from scratch, like some of the old time managers. He basically has always been at clubs already at the top of the tree. Easiest job in the world.

Sandy, you make your arguments lack credibility because you never acknowledge the things Pep has done which have changed the way football is played. Yes he needs technically skilled players, but he creates them as well. KDB is undoubtedly the best midfielder in the PL, if not the world, yet Chelsea could not get a tune out of him, Walker and Grealish are immeasurably better players than they were when the arrived. Pep has brought fresh ideas of the way the game is played. None of this do you ever acknowledge. If you did, but argued that only by having elite players can he do that then your points may be plausible. By your naked hatred of him and refusal to acknowledge his achievements you simply lose the argument before you even post.
