How good is Ange?

The good points with Ange:

- On an upward spiral and not a downward one, like Nuno, Jose, AVB

- Plays an attacking brand of football unlike those ones above.

- Wasn't one of Levy's first choices which is often a good thing.

- We've tried the big name winning managers and they haven't worked out for us. The lesser known, less winning managers have proven more successful for us and Ange is more the latter than the former.

Joke appointment by a joke club.

Joke appointment I agree on.

Nobody takes Spurs seriously.

Tinpot club.

Always have been. Always will be.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Does anyone take Celtic seriously?

My old Sunday league side could give your boys a game
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spurs wouldn't win the SPFL.

There's only a few things that are certainties in life; death, taxes, Spurs winning nothing.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If my Sunday league side could then Spurs definitely would.

Have you ever watched a Scottish game of football outaide an Old Firm game?

Also I like how you are able to spin things down in England to suit whatever is currently happening.

"The PL is so difficult to win, Man City are so dominant, they've won 5/6 of the last titles".

"The Scottish Premiership is so easy to win, Celtic are so dominant, they've won 5/6 of the last titles".

Literally the exact same thing is happening in both leagues, one through murderous oil money.

Your brains are made of celery.

And yet the thread immediately descended into Spurs fans slagging him off while not bothering to wait and listen to our opinions 🤷‍♂️

A large section of your fans are completely deluded.

It would appear that Scott Munn is taking charge of this appointment, and knowing very little about European football has decided to look in his own back yard, expect the first player signing to be Harry Soutter unless Tim Cahill is still going around, C'mon Skippy C'mon

Here's an interesting question for you. If Ange was in charge of Celtic and Poch was in charge of Rangers, who do you think would win the league? Bearing in mind you have said the Scottish Premiership is so easy to win. Surely Poch would win it? If not, why not?

It doesn’t look good quality wise Celtics top scorer last season was a 9 stone five, six , Japanese bloke says so much about the quality of the league.

most peoples perception of the spfl is that its a pub league, and that its full of kickers and "dig"

u have to imagine how good a wee guy like him has to be to avoid being bullied f... out of and scoring so many goals then.

Richarlsons in for a rude awakening btw.

Hilarious getting a wee insight into the minds of Spurs fans who think they support a big club of any relevance.

A club who haven't won a major trophy in decades

Had Spurs been part of the pub league in Scotland, then no doubt Spurs would have won multiple trophies, and Celtic would have considerably less.

Serious question to those scoffing about his potential appointment - what's the difference between him and Slot in a reputational sense? They're both largely untested in a top league, both are considered to play attractive football and whilst Celtic are always more likely winners of the SPL than Feyenoord are the Eredivisie, Ange has just won a treble there that's only been achieved once before in Scottish football history. The only notable difference is that one is younger than the other with a shorter history in the game. They're both a risk so I'm wondering why one is seen more palatable than the other. Is it because Ange is a chubby, balding, hairy old bloke? Is that really the reason?

I have to admit, if you'd suggested his name at the start of all this, in the full knowledge that Poch and Nagelsmann were available, I'd have probably been just as angry but surely, surely, after such a drawn out process where essentially we're left with a choice of either an untested Aussie or yet another glamour win-now, doomed-to-fail appointment in Enrique, it's an absolute no brainer. I'm surprised some of you lot have the energy to care any more. I just want someone in now and I'll get on board with Ange. He might not be perfect but by the sounds of it, he is far more aligned with who we are and what we want to see from our team - togetherness, good football and hope. Hope in a project with a man that will be happy to build and trust in youth.

Get him in. I'm done with the search.

What's he like tactically against a low block team?

He plays against this mostly every game in Scotland. Just look at the results to see how well he does. Albeit against weaker opposition.

What's his defence like?

Truthfully its a bit meh. He has got CCV but without him in the side we do suffer a bit. You better hope he signs players as your back 4 are nowhere near it.

Does he set up differently depending on the opposition?

Not at all. One way. All out attack.

Grow up FFS. Everyobe knows Scottish football is a joke. And any manager would jump at the chance to manage in a proper league. Celtic are small fry, yes big support, but in the context of world football are minnows. On the level of a Scandinavian side.

Sandy … What do you imagine your Spurs squad would look like playing in a league where you only get about £2m a season from TV money? I’ll answer it for you … Wimbledon.

or not, you think you would have your stadium and fanbase?

if you moved now then sure, but i hate these tired comparisons.

it's the same schite you get with people giving it "if celtic and rangers moved to premiership they would be competiting for it / relegated"

no clue who would manage, no clue about squad, nothing, just "i think".

Not gonna get involved in the wumming but one thing I noticed after a while with games at Celtic Park was how quickly the ball boys got the ball to a player taking the throw in? might not sound much and hardly important but he wants his team to get at the oppo from the first whistle, his "we never stop" mantra makes for entertaining, exciting football.

He was loved by the players but he wasn't their mate, they knew who was in charge and the players he signed on the budget he had were more than decent and if sold will make us a huge profit so I feel he has an eye for talent albeit the EPL level and oftentimes imo stupid costs have to be taken into consideration and also HOW much Levy will let him choose who he wants?

I have no idea whatsoever how he will do at Spurs, dependant on whether Kane stays, Son's form, who they get in and if his skills transfer to the EPL and the players get on board but I wish him the best and will enjoy seeing how he can do next season

So Spurs have had top managers, they've had top players, "world class" stadium, yet they still fail. The only possible reason left for their failure is the fans. It's you guys' fault. And after seeing some of your ill-informed comments, I can see why you have failed the club as fans.

Perhaps instead of asking the Celtic fans for advice on Ange, perhaps ask them about who you could be more successful fans?

From a neutral's point of view, Celtic have some of the best fans in the world, creating a banging and passionate atmosphere in a fantastic stadium.

On the other hand, Spurs play in a soulless American Football stadium and sit and sing "Tottenham, Tottenham, Tottenham" a couple of times a match and then moan about the team not being inspired BY THEMSELVES.

You are your own club's worst problem. Take a long hard look at yourselves.

Celtic are a much bigger club than Tottenham, they can't help it if they are based in Glasgow.

This.

I guess he plays 4-3-3, but it’s an uber-attacking variant of it. Both FBs are urged to go forward and/or come inside into midfield. Generally 2 wingers and a striker up top, with basically 3 attacking centre mids behind them … just with one sitting a bit deeper as a nominal DM. Defensive it ain’t!
