To give you some hope..
When Ange came to us our squad was stale, ridiculously unfit, played dour slow football the season before, and he had to bring in essentially almost an entire full first XI.
Of the dozen or so players transferred in during first window almost all of them became either starters or featured heavily as subs.
The first three or so months were patchy as we had numerous injuries which stemmed from unfit players (a lot of muscle injuries), we had to bed almost a new first XI, and they were still adapting to his style of football but the signs were there from the start that once or clicked we'd be watching some great football.. and it proved to be the case.
You'll hear some Rangers fans saying he brought these players in by spending big, but the net spend over the two seasons was £5m. A lot of these players who are now crucial to our squad and who has helped to improve weren't brought in through massive fees.
You'll have to give him time but he'll 100% make you an exciting team to watch, will galvanise the players and fans, is gonna chew up the laziest journos and pundits down there with some excellent quotable lines, and will be a success.. he's a winner and a leader.
His set up was fine for the spfl but was ruthlessly exploited by better teams and coaches in Europe.
He'll need players who really fit the system in the EPL and I don't think he'll compromise his style of play. He'll need a whole season at least IMO. I doubt he'll get that if early results are poor.
It's going to be exciting for sure.
If this is indeed the tactics he will be using why are we being linked with Eric Cartman from United ?

Yeah, that's the sense I get. He's had a pretty unorthodox career but he's has success everywhere he's gone. The real concern is whether Levy will be flexible enough to let Ange do what he does best and tear the squad up and start over

He's been given a 4 year contract, which I think shows Levy realises he needs time.
And I've watched highlights of Celtic's games against Real last year. It looks like they played some great stuff but just couldn't put chances away. Hopefully with a slightly higher standard of finishing ability in the side he'd be better off - but I agree, it's a high risk style and goals will be conceded for sure.
I reckon Spurs fans will probably accept an attacking purist though even if the goals against column suffers a bit

I think this is just gossip rags taking "Available centre half" and matching it up with "Team looking for a centre half"
He'd be a disaster in a high line, albeit tbf he is a good passer and quite press resistant. He's just too slow.

I think there will have to be a slight adaptation of the tactics in the PL as this high octane football is very difficult to maintain over a whole season. In the minor leagues its perhaps easier to dominate where you are one of the best resourced teams. I think the adaption will have to see periods in games where we are happy to control the game without it being 100mph all the time. There will be a need to probe, go backwards and forwards at times, slow slow slow fast. A need to manage energy.

As a slight side issue....
I find it funny how Conte brutalised our squad in pre-season last year, with that post match running and yet when the season started we adopted a passive, drop-off defensive approach that conceded possession. The energy was used in defending for 60% of the time and counter attacking, rather than closing down regaining possession and being able to manage energy levels from there.

Pep had unreal standards he didn't meet. Or he could afford better so spent it? Either way of looking he kind of ruined Joe's reputation which was our gain in the end. He is one of the leadership team.
Ange signs good guys first then works with them. Hart was one and absolutely fine. Not that he had much to do but hey ho. Even the best 'ball at feet' keepers screw up sometimes but his were rare.

Very surprised, must have changed since he was at Spurs
Joe Hart was a bomb scare when he first signed He had some awful moments and initially struggled. Now, he looks like he's made for this kind of keeper role!
I wouldn't go as far to say Ange could do the same with Harry McGuire though. HE would defiantly struggle in Ange's team. CB's will need to be quick passing under pressure whilst being able to cover a high line with quick recovery pace!
I'm just glad Celtic fans seem to be verifying that I'm not talking complete booollocks in the OP

I think Perisic or Gil can find a roles as Left wing
Porro on the right wing. Son central (if Kane leaves)
Sarr/Kulu/Devine and Bentancur could be the CM options with Bissouma sitting and Skipp/PEH as back up to Bissouma
(Ndombele and Lo Celso shipped off)
Udogie and Emerson should be able to be decent as inverted fullbacks getting involved in recycling the football.
At minimum we need 2 x CBs and a GK
.......Perisic Son Porro
...........Kulu Bentancur
.............Bissouma
Udogie ?? Romero Emerson
........Raya or Livkovic(??)
With Bentancur injured wiuld like to see Sarr and Devine given a run out in preseason
I think someone like Sarr could really step up. He's young & energetic. From his few appearances he looks to use the ball well, and forward. Happy in possession and better under the press than Skipp/PEH
I like the look of Davine as well. Only 18 but looks like he could do well in this sort of quick passing setup.
