The Nunez debt is becoming terribly boring.

Opposition fans try to make out he's been useless and a massive flop, Liverpool fans trying to make out he had a great 1st season and is a really top player.

The reality is probably somewhere in between.

I agree. Called it at that of the season, 15 goals all comps and I'll be happy enough. That's exactly what he's done.

He's also great to watch, pure chaos.

I'm not sure anyone is saying he's had a great first season, but a good one considering his age and moving to a new country, but with the potential to be a great player.

Tbf I’ve not seen anyone say he’s had a great first season, more a case of it being pretty decent for a debut season, and a million miles away from being a flop. No one denies he has his flaws but he has time on his side to improve. If he ends up scoring 20 goals a season I think we’ll all be very happy.

And to all the Spurs fans who are talking utter shiite, it’s not our fault West Ham have destroyed you all by winning a trophy.

More similar to PEH, very suited to liverpools profile of a midfielder

To be honest I think MacAllister could play the 5,6 or 8 role. Great signing.

£55m is a lot of money and a good deal for Brighton, they will probably replace him with better for £10m, such is their fantastic scouting.

I love how the dippers claim they don't spend much and yet they have a squad full of players that cost £30m - £85m. They spend as much as anyone.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Well we don't spend as much as anyone, Spurs for example, but yes, we do spend. More importantly we don't spend it on shiiiiiiiiiiit like Sanchez, GLC, Aurier and of course biggest flop of the season Richarlison.

That's £150m right there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Don't forget Ndombele for 60m.

Phenomenal signing for ‘Pool IMO, in a much needed position. Continue to be surprised he’s only 24 mind. Must have had some paper round.

Matip, robertson, gomez, trent, Jones, elliot, henderson, bajcetic, tsimkas all played plenty of minutes and all cost under that.

Then add in gakpo, Diaz, konate, salah etc all having had their values increase drastically, and the fact spurs have a higher net spent over the last few years, I'd say you are talking bs like normal 😂

35m initial fee for macallister is unreal. There's talk of spura paying more than that for harry maguire ffs LOL

Whilst 5 is traditionally a CB. Many DMF now hold a no5. Busquets and Fernandinho being examples.

5 being the DMF
6 being the more b2b
8 being the creative more advanced

Football has evolved since the 80’s and early 90s or so I thought. Didn’t think it needed explaining.

Really good article on the bbc about him I’ll post below for those who haven’t read. Talks about Mac Allister being “destined for the top”… so where do we think he will end up after Liverpool then?!

Tbf everything I read/hear uses 6 as shorthand for the defensive mid, 8 for the box-to-box or attacking central mid and 10 for a pure attacking mid.

Top clubs don’t play on Thursdays. Decent stepping stone for him to get into Newcastle though 👍

The heart warming story of how City became a big club with over a billion pound investment, getting caught cheating and sanctioned by UEFA and now awaiting judgement on over a hundred charges from the FA.

Just makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside doesn't it.
