Spurs Summer Transfer Window

Heard Levy offered Bretford 20mln for Raya, when they are asking for 40, with man United reportedly interested.... Expect that not to happen. I fear Maddison will go to Newcastle. Laporte to Spurs is a big step down, I'm sure their will be better clubs than us in the CL in for him. Barnes & Jack Harrison from Leeds are possible. Would rather have Guehi than Harry Maguire. Don't know much about Ndicka..... Isn't he gonna be a freebie/Cheap (Last Year of deal ?).. Seems highly regarded.....would imagine there will be better options than Spurs available

Yes but it ain't all gonna happen this window, maybe 4 or 5 to achieve anywere near that

Levy or not, if United are in for Raya then they are the better option right now anyway.

I’m hopeful that a bid of £30m could secure Raya. Obviously that depends on UTD but that’s why we need to move quickly. Same with Maddison, make string offers and move quickly. Unfortunately that is the opposite of how Levy likes to work.

We desperately need quality and to get rid of this deadwood that’s been at the club for what seems an age.

Arsenal are linked with players such as rice and will strengthen significantly. We really need to up our game

I think we can off load a lot of those players if we are seeking fair values for them.

All of them between £10m - £15m. May be a bit more for NDomb & GLC (£20-25m).

Add Perisic to that list, who we'll have to give away despite 1 year left on deal.

I see Spurs' transfer bizz being quite low key this summer. I fear Levy has been stung by the likes of Richie, GLC & NDombele. I can't see us making multiple 50mln+deals with a manger in place now with a rep for unearthing hidden gems. I can see us going after the 2 Japanese lads at Celtic (Midfielder & striker), there's a young midfielder at Bristol City we've been tracking for ages (Next Dele ???), Harvey Barnes & Jack Harrison seem like low risk options & Marc Guehi would be an upgrade

I definitely think Spurs need to be looking further afield for players, than the usual suspects. There must be other players out there besides the likes of Maddison and Barnes. How did say Leicester pick up the likes of Mahrez and Kante? Or Brighton keep picking up little gems?

The way Spurs value players is a joke... Its why we take so long to get deals done, have so much deadwood and have so many out on loan. Don't know if its Levy (probably is) but it needs to change sharpish

Laporte and Ndicka aren't realistic for Spurs.

The rest of the ins and outs seem fairly uncontroversial (I'd agree Perisic needs to go too) but it won't happen until Postecoglou has a chance to make his own mind up after seeing them all in action. I reckon at least one of the previous cast-offs will get another chance, and I reckon at least one youth player will get a go considering what Levy said about Ange reconnecting the academy.

Based on what he's done at previous clubs, it feels like Postecoglou will tell Levy he needs to get rid of deadwood even if it means taking a hit on the fee. Fingers crossed on that front.

With no European football, and with the domestic cups need to be taken ultra seriously, Spurs have far to many players. Lots will see next to no game time, so definitely need outing. Just as previous poster said going to have to take a hit on players being sold.

Anyone know what the position is on just terminating contracts, is it a cheaper alternative than just keep paying players for doing nothing.

Think it all depends on the length of time left.... Thank god we aren't offering 8 year deals like Chelsea

terminating players contracts is not good for the books. You are writing down their value to zero, and getting rid of them (so you have no asset) while also the transfer fee is still being amortised. While you may save a bit on wages the rest will appear as negative figures in accounts which just means we have less to play with to remain FFP compliant compared to letting them see out their contract

As least the noises around the rumoured players are for the positions we need.

Looks like we could have a clear run at Raya if De Gea stays at Utd.

Kilman, Laporte, Ndicka, Guehi and there are few more out there, could all do a better job than Dier and Sanchez.

It would be a massive failure from Levy again not to invest in the defence. There should be no excuses this time.

The valuation process is pathetic and led by the misery Levy

Get rid off and we will be listened by other clubs when we bid for their quality players

17 out, 14 in his first summer window with us.

9 out, 5 in at the subsequent January window. (Many were youths pressed into 1st team action tbf)

Enjoy the ride!

We had about a £300m headspace within FFP last season so we should be ok. Levy should see this as a one off. Clear the decks and have a proper reset.

Get rid of the deadwood or loan them again in one hit.

Realistically Ange only really needs 18-19 decent players without European Football next season.

That is brilliant. Did Ange play the youths much?

Yeah... I don't know what goes on behind the scenes but it does feel we make the already difficult process of buying & selling players overly difficult and there's no question that it impacts those that we buy in particular. The number of players we sign late in the window, with little time to accumulate and then start poorly is ridiculous.

We are going to be behind in the transfer market as Ange isn't starting until 1st July. He will have to have a closer look at his players and youth players to see where he needs to strengthen.
As for players, I would prefer us to sign hidden gems from around the world, like Brighton have done. I feel the mentality of English players isn't very good and come across entitled. I would much prefer to sign a young lad that has had to turn his world upside down and fight to make it as a footballer.

I would like to see something like this :

New GK, Forster
Royal, Spence, Porro
Romero, Rodon, New CB x 2
Udogie, Sess

Bentancur, Bissouma, Sarr, Skipp, New CM

Kulu, Kane, Son, Ricarlison, New Forward.

Would like to upgrade on Sess too if possible.
Kepy all three RB's in as Ange likes to play with inverted full backs so maybe one of them can play that role with abit of coaching?
