Raya is very Kepa like. A good long range shot always beats him. The rest of his game is quite good.

Got any stats to show this, out of interest?

Never seen him really make a mistake

Cost Brentford promotion with an absolute shiiitshow a few years back...

Good keeper though.

Chelsea will probably go hard for Onana, dunno about United.

When you've grown up watching a team where we've had the below clogging up the majority of teh time in goal...

Ian Walker
Neil Sullivan
Kasey Keller
Heurelhi Gomes

You're more than happy to accept slightly limited keepers where they struggle with 1 aspect but are decent elswhere!

Having said that, I really like Raya based on the limited times I've watched him

Never seen him really make a mistake, and he seems liek a decent guy as well

Much happier with this signing that the rumoured Pickford one we were talking about a few montsh ago

How can you make a judgment like that? You been for a pint with him?

Spurs offering £20m

Brentford want £40m

Raya has 1 year left on his deal, so it all really depends on whether anyone else is in for him and expect Brentford to stick to their guns until such time as they dont have to !

While many will call out Levy for low balling, the 20m difference will go a long way. £20m will be a lot to Brentford, they risk losing him for zero and they will want to get money in for their coming window. Fingers crossed Levy acts less like a Khunt on this one, but secures a fair deal which keeps everyone happy and us moving forward.

As long as this guy is with us pre-season then all well and good!

As for Maddison, Newcastle must be the faves given their UCL and the good vibe at their club.

This is a deal where we may have to chuck money at it to get an edge, in which case we dont want to cave to Brentford on Raya too quickly!

I think Maddison goes to Newcastle personally

Newcastle are the front-runners to sign James Maddison.

#Tottenham would face a challenge in convincing Maddison to join them over a move to Newcastle.

@NizaarKinsella

Seen this by another journo too.

Nah I think he'll choose us. I mean yeah, maybe they can offer him more money, and champions league, and ambition, and a club on the up.

But we have go-karting.

Quick, think what else can we offer?

He can go up and do the skywalk whenever he wants? Free tickets to the next Beyoncé gig?

Brentford should be happy with anything north of £25m.
He wants to come to us and agreed personal terms. Brentford have a replacement lined up for alot cheaper.

Happy for Levy to wait to bring the price down. Brentford doing the what is in their interest and Levy the same.

We can get Raya for free next summer so they will backdown eventually.

Kane is different kettle of fish

Can you point to anywhere that these levy negotiations have worked previously. Where we get a player in for a full season and get a much lower than quoted price

Because I can think of many times we’ve either ended up losing out on the player (Grealish) or they’ve joined last minute when we have already lost lots of points playing a far inferior player (porro)

Also, I thought levy was stepping back from the football side of things? Yet there he was on the transfer panel…

Nothing changes at spurs.

Bissouma was brought in early last summer. He had one year left on his contract. Richarlison was pretty early too I think, as was Perisic.

We don't want to and don't have to sell Kane.

Brentford cannot afford to forego £25m for their keeper. Their record turnover is £140m and their matchday revenue is £10m a season !

Their transfer business is at a very low level and their record sale was Watkins at £30m.
