Not sure what pubs you go to with only one screen over here. My local has about six and it’s tiny.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Fair enough, may have changed. Here however it’s just like being in a huge bookies with millions of screens and lots and lots of alcohol
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There will be plenty of pubs with only one, a lot of pubs did sack Sky off after 2008 (fack loads even closed down) but I suppose it depends where you go. Sports bars seem to be more popular nowadays. Not been to Australia so hard for me to compare bar/pub culture.

England win the toss and thankfully bat. Was so sure he'd choose to bowl.

Australia bowling 8.5 out of 10
England bowling 7.5 out of 10

Australia batting 8 out of 10
England batting 8 out of 10

Australia fielding 8.5 out of 10
England fielding 8 out of 10

Australia captaincy 7 out of 10
England captaincy 9 out of ten

I think it's the captaincy and home advantage that could win it for England, cause Aussies edge it elsewhere.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Do you think Australian and English batting is at the same level?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes I do,different styles, but equally efficient, how about you?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, australia have a better batting line up.

If anything I would be more likely to put England and Australia's pace attacks at a similar level.

Shame, Starc is the one I expected us to smack about. Hazlewood, Boland and Cummins keep it tighter although it does mean you lose the variation and pace albeit Hazlewood is still quicker than our 3.

Yeah, thank fack for that.

Looking forward to this. Just need our openers to perform consistently which I'm not confident about. Aussie attack is very good.

I wouldn't fancy opening against these three aussie pacers no matter the wicket. They rarely give you anything.

I think Aussie bowling much better balanced with Nathan and us losing Archer and Leach are blows. Our attack is very one pace for this test. Also Green versus Stokes as the fith bowler, can Stokes bowl properly?

I think initially that is true, but they do later on and they do when under pressure. I think they could get our openers out cheaply though

Supposedly Green isn't fully fit either

Anyone got a working link???

Is their a reason the ashes are all being played before August? That seems very strange.

posted on 16/6/23

Aussie attack is better mainly because of lyon being superior to moeen. I do shart myself watching broad and Anderson bowl however.

posted on 16/6/23

I think if you went down the teams man for man aussies would win most duels, BUT, that's not how cricket works. Prior to series I'd have had aussies 3-1 winners. This toss and pitch does have me worried. Are English fans worried about aussie batsmen on pitches like this? Seems to favour neither pace attack, so brings lyon more into the equation?

Could do with cook staying out there and grabbing crawley's pads.
