He will probably compete with Jesus on missing sitters

Must admit that I don't particularly rate him. Having said that I try and avoid watching Chelsea too much so perhaps he's better than I think.

Artetedu know far more than we do though and if they rate him then that's good enough for me.

Probably being bought for his versatility as he can play upfront or as a 10.

Seems a bit of pointless signing. You already have a striker who has a good all round game but doesn't score too many.

Need to get Rice & Caicedo done first.
Who covers Partey when he’s injured? Elneny/Jorginho?

I really dont get it.
He is similar to jesus in which he isn't an out an out striker but isn't a 10 or midfielder. And Jesus is better at nearly everthing bar in the air.

Strange singing, having said that, he can't be worse than he has been for chelsea so could improve and fit in somewhere.

Could be a good deal for all.

I don't like him at all but I do feel that there is a good player in him if he plays in the right position.

I don't think we're the team that should be finding that out though.

There's a good number of things Gabriel Jesus does well. But at 5 foot 9, and there's only so much he can do.

The only time Arsenal have had any sort of aerial threat is when we push our CBs up the pitch during set pieces.

Anyone who's watched us play will notice the frustrating way we continuously spam crosses into the 6-yard box, to no one in particular.

I think it's encouraging to see us linked to a 6 foot 3 striker for once.

Havertz, Nketiah and Jesus with some Benny Hill music on the season’s highlights reel.

I think he could do a good job in one of the two number 8 positions we adopt, but so could a lot of players. I hope we're really not looking at giving Chelsea a big chunk of our budget on one of their majorly underperforming players.

Seems to be the hipster’s choice. My Twitter timeline currently seems to be full of people I don’t follow who can’t wait to show off how super smart they are cos they see something in him the rest of us plebs don’t.

From what I can tell it boils down to the fact he is quite tall. One guy did a multi tweet thread about how great his body is.

Would be a really strange signing. I mean it gives us another option up front (and Jesus could cover wide positions more often like he did at City), he can play wide positions. No way he is playing Odegaard’s position though, just not good enough to do it.

It is getting kind of boring knowing every transfer window we are going to spend big on a City and/or Chelsea cast off. Cancelo is probably the next big money name we’ll get and it doesn’t really excite me.

Regards to the last paragraph, it’s a clear strategy by the club to go for proven PL players who have played a good part in their teams success and are looking for a way out. It’s not the worst strategy and is actually quite safe. Especially when you look at how Pepe turned out.

How Harvertz turns out is a guess, but surprisingly enough even without a proper goal scorer we scored the most ever in our PL history.

I don't know what position we'd play him.

There is no way we can play
Kai "I have struggled to hit a barn door in 3 years" Havertz
as a striker...👀

Jesus and Nketiah have struggled to hit a barn door for longer than 3 years

We aren’t allowed to have good strikers anymore

If he joins Arsenal I've no doubt he will be a different player to he one at Chelsea, in terms of performance.

Has lots to his game and he is a unit. Not a natural striker but he has played CM and played it well in Germany. I genuinely think he will surprise people.

Wouldn't be the first player to struggle at Chelsea then perform well elsewhere. Fee seems quite high but again, I think he will do well. He will certainly be better than Pepe.

I think the plan is to play him in Xhaka's position

Arteta operates a very schematic system. He likes versatile players. I am sure he has a plan. tbh others have failed in the wrong system and gone on to do very well when used properly. We'll see. I doubt he costs us more than £50m. Someone of Champions League experience who can fill in as our 3rd striker role or drop deeper into a Firminho position? To add height that we sorely lack at times? I am happy if he can do that bench role. And if he doesn't, he is young enough to be moved on, albeit with a slight loss. Very little risk tbh and great upside if Arteta can turn him around.

He's 6 foot 3. An absolute unit compared to all the creative "midgets" we have at the club.

Gabriel Jesus, Nketiah, Saka, Martinelli, Reiss Nelson, Trossard, Ødegaard. Not a single one of them taller than 5 foot 11.

Taking the entire side as a whole, the only out-field player at Arsenal taller than him is Saliba.

Yeah but he’s built like a rake and weak as piiiiiiss.

He isn't gonna win any body building comps anytime soon but he is tall and hardly a twig. He has strength for sure and as said above, have you seen Arsenal's mf?

I think he will be a vast improvement at Arsenal if he doesn't play upfront. I hate to say bit cos I genuinely think he improves their team/squad, even if he is 5hit at Chelsea.

Yeah but your opinion is worthless.
