It’s gotta be his position going forward. Keep him away from right back as we know he really struggles defensively. Take that burden away from him. He’s a big confidence player so just get him doing what he’s really good at.
I’d look at Pavard as an option to come in at right back.
Pavard? fk me plz no. Liability defensively, switches off more than Trent

I think be interesting to continue with what we was doing with Trent at the end of this season from RB. We need a lcb really though, especially since VVD is done. And we need some physicality in mf with legs.

I was suprised at this one too….yeah he wasn’t his colossal best last year and maybe on the decline a bit but even a declining vvd is better than most prem centre backs
To me its confidence, which he would have got a lot from knowing he had that bit extra in the tank allowed to be assured and almost casual/lazy. Now i feel he knows he doesn't have that, doesnt trust he has that recovery speed etc.
He puts the ball out instantly almost all the time now no composure/confidence, backs off more than ever and shifts responsibility more than ever. Just think hes done, hope im wrong and he has an outstanding season but to me id rather start looking to the future now than hoping he can get back to his best. Hopefully Konate can stay fit and isnt another injury prone player and we can find a long term partner for him.
It would be like sticking Maguire as a number 10 for United again Havant and Waterlooville women's team. He would look amazing then. There is no but

I'm pretty sceptical about Trent starting in midfield at domestic level long term, but it makes a lot of sense at international level with the lower intensity and less pressure on the ball.

He wants out of Bayern because they play him right back and he wants to play centre half.
Trent should remain inverted. Works really well for us and he becomes the extra man in midfield which gives him extra freedom. He is willing to drop back into right back so no issue there. The club focus should still be to buy 2 more midfielders.
From my limited time watching the he is not great as a full back, far from it. AWB is better than him.
But put him in the position as Southgate does then he does look great.
Yeah, was outstanding against WC oppo for England.
Surprised he played, being scouse and not english

Must be very limited if you think AWB is better than him. He was the best in the world up to last season when most of the team were poor after the system change and loss of confidence after poor results.
