Surely if they are picking up banging they should be able to find it rather quickly

whos funding these rescue operations?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
U.S. and Canadian Coast Guard.
This has always been something that's pizzed me off.
Like every couple of years there's some dumb phoock who tries to walk solo to the North Pole. And others who ski in places where avalanche warnings are all over.
I think people just going into danger for jollies should pay for their own rescue. Or, buy insurance to cover search and rescue costs.

Yeah, only an area the size of Wales to triangulate, then add depth into as well. Should be well easy.

Surely the planes location where it picked up the notice would narrow the search area a little?

DO NOT GOOGLE ‘XXXEXTREMELY HARD BIT’

This thing probably imploded the moment all contact was lost, a catastrophic failure of the hull.

All the occupants will have been turned into fish bait in a split second.

A tragic set of events but they knew the risks.

Tangled in the wreck theory seems the least speculated so far, their last known location and ping had them just above the wreck. Their best chance of recovery is if the Victor 6000 and untangle them.

Yeah, like if you hear someone shout you from behind you turn round as you know the direction it came from.

After 1hr 45 minutes. The descent was expected to take 2hrs. I'd have to agree with Billy here - likely that the sub imploded as it neared the bottom.

Fascinating tour. Apparently the Titanic swimming pool is remarkably still full.

Or power loss. Same outcome if the air supply, thrusters and CO2 scrubbers run off the same battery.

They've lost contact on previous missions so I don't think it immediately points to an implosion, but if they are going to die then that would be the most favourable outcome for them.

posted on 21/6/23

On a previous mission in this sub they lost contact for 5 hours, that’s why OceanGate didn’t notify the Coast Guard for 8 hours on this occasion, I’m not saying an implosion didn’t happen btw

Maybe the knocking is coming from the inside of the Titanic and this is the start to a horror film.

Who knows. There was some expert on the radio earlier saying it could be anyhring and not to get our hopes up. Hopefully he is wrong.
