Typical Sandy.
Doesn't recognise the potential in Romero but equally thinks Emerson is a first pick.
This guy is absolutely clueless about football. The only way Emerson gets in an Ange system is if he suddenly goes three at the back and he plays to the right of that three. There is no way in hell he gets in ahead of Porro because Ange's wide players need to to have the ability to tuck in or get forward. Emerson gets a nosebleed when he goes over the halfway line.
He works hard, sure, but his ceiling is so, so low. It got to the point last year where the Spurs fans were applauding the guy for not making a game losing mistake. I can't wait to get shot of him. He's been here two seasons now and as far as I'm concerned he's an unambitious, cautious defender, symptomatic of an era at Spurs I really want to forget.
You can go with him if you like Sandy?! Do us all a favour.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think it is you that is clueless. The one thing the game against West Ham taught us is that they need defenders that can defend. Porro is useless at defending. Emerson is pretty good. Porro may get in playing in front of Emerson, but he certainly won't get in instead of him.
Emerson will 100 per cent be starting against Brentford.
Fancy a name change bet on it?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm not taking any bet that Emerson won't be starting against Brentford because, despite the fact that I think he's woeful, I know how Levy operates in the market so until we get at least two reinforcements at centre half, there's definitely a possibility he gets a game. Long term though, he hasn't got a hope in hell.
I'll take the bet that he doesn't become a first team regular for a name change. How does that sound? Given you reckon he's a first pick, surely you'll back your man?

I'm fine with our RB options Porro, Spence and Emerson is an embarrassment of riches for a team not in Europe
Udogie and Reguilon aren't bad also. I see Udogie being the starter.
All focus should be on CBs and nothing else
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In reality, we have too many. Don't forget Sessegnon too. That's three for each position. One of the things I like about Ange is his uncompromising approach to his tactics and philosophy. He won't change for anybody which is what most top managers are like these days. With that in mind and his attacking intent there for all to see, there's an indecisiveness about our right back options. Porro and Spence both offer attacking intent so they will fit the profile of the manager better. You could argue that it's important to have different options on the bench but that doesn't apply to a one track, single-minded coach like Ange. If he turns to his bench it'll be about freshness, not applying caution. For that reason, I see no reason to keep hold of Emerson. His only saving grace is that he has the ability to play RB and CB so Ange might keep him for his adaptability.
Also, at a time where we need to shift players, Emerson is one of those that wouldn't be short of a few takers in Europe. I'd sell him today if I could. We can't have six players for two positions, particularly with no European football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Fair points, in truth I'll rather have Emerson at CB than Sanchez or Dier.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think Dier whilst his heart is in a good place, is a virus. Most managers have accepted Sanchez is bad and dropped him round bench when possible but Dier still gets starts. Both need to go for everyone's sake. Dier will not enjoy being on the bench after having such large influence on Levy, the club and the first team.

Yep Sanchez is the worst of the lot although Dier isn’t far behind. Both need selling ASAP, but unfortunately Dier will still be here

Fair points, in truth I'll rather have Emerson at CB than Sanchez or Dier.

Sanchez is the one we need to get rid of the most. Keeping Dier and not replacing is negligent, keeping Sanchez and not replacing is criminal.
Davies, well I wouldn't say I'm his biggest fan but he does ok in a back 3 and we do have some depth in the full back position.

I don't know how you've worked that one out Edin. I've never met any of you lot at games.
For what it's worth, I'm not a screamer. It's just football. There are more important things.

I'm fine with our RB options Porro, Spence and Emerson is an embarrassment of riches for a team not in Europe
Udogie and Reguilon aren't bad also. I see Udogie being the starter.

Yeh, all CBs need changing. Although Fridge is one of the dwindling bunch of supporters that still rates Romero along with that buffoon Ted.

Go back into the lunatic asylum, Sandy...you know nothing about football.

We still have no DoF and it's really showing now. Everything's protracted.
