Is it weird that I won't choose Ruud? I've never liked tap in merchants which he is a world class version of. I hated Inzaghi too. Scholes and Ferdinand. What were his issues?

Ruud was a very, very good footballer. I don't know where this idea has come from that he was just some tap in merchant.

That he was a bit one dimensional and didn’t work as well with those around him. Unlike Saha who while scoring less worked better for the team which was why he replaced him.

By the sounds of it EtH doesn’t want a striker like Ruud either, whereas Scholes would be ideal in a EtH set up.

Ruud’s linkup was ok but not great, he also wasn’t the fastest. He only ever scored one goals for us outside the box.

He was a striker who scored goals. We need a striker who can score goals.

Ferdinand and Martinez would set us up at CB for years and years though.

You won’t see a more stupid comment than that all day, unless Mamba makes another one.

If we just wanted a finisher then why haven’t we gone for Vlahović, he’s available and has a far better scoring record than Hojlund. Also with Rashford and Antony we don’t really have wide forwards who are going to provide much as they both want to cut inside.

Kléberson might even be the Brazilian version playing next to Casemiro

If we had Barthez, the OG of the modern GK we could’ve used the Onana money on a striker

Not sure an 18 year old Ronaldo is what we need in our squad right now.

Personally loved Forlan and thought about mentioning him but there's no way he'd be a better option for us today than Ruud or Saha, even if as an all rounder Forlan was probably better than both. Tended to play best with a strike partner whereas we play with one CF.
