I’ll just caveat that with a point that RR made on this exact topic a couple of weeks ago. If Hendo continues to push or fight for LGBTQ rights over there then good on him.


But if if he says nothing of the sort and takes the huge amounts of cash, then he is a hypocrite. Many of us would do the same, but that would just make us sellouts also.

It’s really disappointing, albeit unsurprising, that Henderson has gone there when you consider his work in and out of football for progressive causes.

Hard to predict where the Saudi stuff will go, but I can see it being a big problem. They've just begun. Can't blame Hendo for taking the money - a lot of us would. But they're starting to pull the same moves they did with the golf. They allegedly offered Woods the thick end of a billion dollars to sign. Hard to resist - they have unlimited money and they don't give a feck whose feelings they upset.

As much as I can't stand Neville he never 'took their money'. He was paid, as normal, at normal rates, by his broadcasting contractor.

That said, it was worse than Hendo because he didn't give in to temptation and could have stood up for something that notionally cost him far less than the former and he didn't.

Maybe Henderson has just taken a recent disliking to them.

But that's not the rules that Rapinoe and her ilk live by, is it? One strike and you are cancelled, no excuses, no return, out. And that is why many people have problems with the fundamentalists like her that brutally pursue a black and white (no pun intended) world.

Its always been about money, you really thing all these big corporations give a toss about the rainbow flag, they change their logos and all that just to attract people from that community to buy their product/services. Same with athletes and celebrities, its all virtue signalling so they can keep their job and make more money through endorsements.

I'm a Liverpool fan and I have no qualms in viewing what Henderson has chosen to do as rank hypocrisy.

It underlines the pitfalls footballers being pushed to the front to pontificate on political issues. As Liverpool captain, it's became part of his role.

I'm sure he was aware of.how this move woud be viewed , given his vocal support for that community. In my eyes it's not a good look for him. He's an experienced player though and appears reasonably intelligent. He's weighed it up and thought fook it, I'm taking the cash.
