Fickle fans, one day you're the dog next day the lampost, gets a good start with a few goals he will be forgiven, what for who cares.

I've watched a fair bit of Leeds recently and whilst I do agree he's a decent CF I'm sure you might be able to get a more consistent goal scorer?

He is a player that would.be in my squad, first choice for a club like Leeds? Not sure?

Indeed people have short memories…….PB deserves to be supported if people are honest he has credit in the bank injuries played a huge part in how the team ultimately fell to pieces over two seasons.
Phillips ,Cooper,Bamford, Dallas Rodrigo all injured for long periods all had detrimental effect.
People like to lambast Cooper …..he has a mistake in him but I’d sooner see him in there than Koch or Wober.
I don’t want anyone in there who’s hearts not in it.
Hoping we can turn it around……I-watched Burnley v Betis yesterday at least the first half it was turgid. Roca was invisible thank goodness he’s gone.
Unless it was just a poor preseason factor I’d say Burnley are odds on to come straight back down.
Hopefully we’ll be moving up!

But it is his fault that he missed several sitters that could well have kept us up. However, over the whole season, he wasn't any more to blame for our relegation than the rest of the team and yes, he has been used as a scapegoat by many fans. I hope Farke can do what Bielsa did and bring him back to something approaching his best. As we know, with Bamford, it's about what's going on in his head, so if he's in the team, we get fully behind him and help restore his confidence. If that happens, we all benefit.

He's stolen a living and his miss v Leicester and Newcastle played a huge part in our relegation. Don't hate him, but we needed to replace him a year ago, now look at us ready to face Cardiff and Birmingham.

But I do say this to Patrick: If and when you do score again in front of the home supporters, none of that hands in the ears rubbish. Just let your feet do the talking.

6. Physical strength of squad

But, the recurring theme is...

Bamford couldn't score in a brothel.

There is nowhere to hide when you are a Goalkeeper or a Striker, I think the large majority are wishing Meslier and Bamford a great season.

For me, I hope they have success at another club.
Not LUFC.

I don’t particularly like paddy.. I don’t like how he blames team mates and looks for scapegoats when underperforming himself.

In footballing terms I thought he led the line well for us in his first few years and we functioned better as a team with him in it. He’s just not a natural goal scorer and never has been. He’s always up there in the ‘big misses’ charts every season. What you think of him as a footballer largely comes down to whether you think a centre forward has to be a 20 goal a season guy or whether you think it doesn’t matter as long as the team wins.

He’s always going to get stick for the amount of chances he misses because that’s human nature… but the hatred? It says more about the people dishing it out. As long as he tries it’s not his fault if managers pick him, if you don’t like it (and personally I’d prefer we got a new striker) blame the board/manager.not the player.

posted on 29/7/23

You know what?

There are 9 positions on the pitch where they can get away with 80% of their mistakes, only getting called out for the 20%, and are not really so reliant on others in the team for their end performance.

But there’s 2 positions on the pitch where …

1/ they can’t do their job effectively unless they get 100% support from the rest of the team

2/ every mistake, or inability to apply the ultimate end result, is amplified 100x.

Striker/No.9 - not scoring every chance

Goalie - not saving every shot

And when a ‘team’ fails to perform as a unit, the players in these 2 positions will fail.
Impossible for them not to fail.
And as a result of their inability to deliver the ‘expected result’, every time, their confidence gets shot.

And that exacerbates the problems.

Messier and Bamford.

Everyone’s dartboard pin ups

Sorry, but in that team, with that management, even Kane & Alisson would struggle to impress.

But most of the bile has been dumped on Bamford and Meslier, and the majority are trying to drive them out of the club.

Yes, bring in others that can do the job. That makes sense. We’ve always needed strength in depth not only to cover injuries and loss of form, but to keep up the pressure on every player. Challenge is healthy.

And what do these two get from our fans, and many of you?

ALAW

Yeah, right.

We did need to replace him or find an alternative. But we needed a striker similar to him as we play better when hes playing. Sadly we bought players totally different to him and it didn't work out

When the hatred translates into death threats, that of course is completely unacceptable.

The things I dislike about Bamford are (1) his profligacy in front of goal and (2) his attitude now (though I do accept the unacceptable threats have no doubt worsened his mood).
