Doesnt work that way Macca
And i think we have over £50m deficit on player transfer this season.
Need to sell and sell big
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay fair enough I'll try again I probably haven't worded it very well and should have said we can only spend on transfers an amount in line with our turnover that doesn't mean we make a net loss of more than £39 million over 3 years and yes I got the parachute payments thing wrong thinking they couldn't be used to spend on transfers but only players wages which is of course incorrect as Jonty pointed out and those payments are part of the club's income to do as it sees fit.
So our turnover from sponsorship, tv money, match day revenue parachute payments and player sales minus wages running costs and all the payments we're obligated to make to new signings which as you pointed out is quite considerable and leaves the club needing to sell to increase their budget to sign all the new players we need.
The point I was really trying to make is The 49ers can't just put their hand in their pocket to increase our budget but I'm sure they'll try and copy the likes of Man City and a few others and find creative ways to increase our revenue... stadium capacity going up to 55000 is a good start but that ain't happening for a couple of years I'd imagine.
So ssuming all our Premier league turnover and future turnover without player sales for the next couple of years is going to be swallowed up taking the hit on the loan brigade I still think my calculations on what the club can spend without selling the likes of Gnonto and Adams is close to what we are allowed to lose over 3 years.
It's definitey not ideal but the last regime has unfortunately handicapped us and okay Paraag may or may not have been a part of all that, he says his hands were tied, he was a passenger etc and some believe that some don't but either way we have to accept we're not going to splash mega millions and it's annoying that Leicester and Southampton have got a massive advantage over us having their house in order better than us and having a substantial war chest compared to ours but I think we've got an excellent manager and with at least 3 more signings probably at the expense of Gnonto and Adans Leeds should be at least top 6.

In Paraag's podcast interview, he made this statement:
"we want to be aggressive, we want to get right back up as soon as we can, we want to do what it takes"
I just haven't seen that yet.
At risk of repeating myself, we've got parachute payments, short sales, new sponsors, plenty of ways owners can inject equity, FFP is simply not a relevant excuse for our situation.
If it is and we're so hamstrung that we can't sign the players we can all see we've needed and Farke says we need then why exactly did 49ers buy us, if we're in such dire financial straits that signing a player for 7 m and one for 400k is about all we can do?
We should have had good platform to bounce back, I'm not sure we do now.
if we going into season thinking Gray and Gyabi will lead us out of this division, them I must admit I'm not sure we will.
I think the coach is a good one, I think Gray and Gyabi could be important part of success BUT I think we're hoping too much that Gray, Gyabi, Cresswell, Hjelde all come good.
That Byram if he signs manages more than 10 matches a season.
That Bamford stays injury free and rediscovers form from 3 years ago.
That Rutter can find the net.
That Sinisterra stays fit long enough to make a difference.
That Poveda is more than just a couple of pre season matches of step overs.
That Harrison, Gnonto, Summerville can all show their best sides....coinsistenly...
I really think there's a lot of big asks here that 2/3 signings could really have made a lot of difference to.
With Cardiff having transfer embargoes, we couldnt have a better time to face them, these first 4 league matches of transfer window could make or break our season.
I think its crucial we get a good start.
Well when you outline it all like that Jonty I don't disagree with you that we should have been in a very strong position financially like Southampton and Leicester appear to be to bounce straight back.
I get the concerns, I'm no different on that front and the lack of major transfer activity is bound to have fans fearing we're going to be run by chancers.... and yes I agree the very positive soundbites from the new chairman don't seem to have married up yet with actual tangible proof of being "aggressive" in that desire to achieve immediate promotion with even the very minimum of what fans have identified for the last couple of seasons in that Leeds desperately need a new left back and a new striker.
Maybe foolishly or naively I'm still holding on to what many think is a slim hope though and that is the new owners will have rectified that area we are short in before the window closes.
However unless that scenario is addressed by September 1st then absolutely that is extremely worrying and does indeed make you wonder if as you say we are so hamstrung by the appalling loan deserters why indeed have The 49ers agreed to take us on as what's in it for them and their high profile investors?
I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt for 4 more weeks and then we'll see if they've come good on their original promises and if they don't then like you I will certainly pose the questions and quite rightly bring them to account as to what the heck is going on... Good cop bad cop... you can be the bad cop Jonty!

haha....yes still time and I'm sure a lot of effort has gone into persuading certain players to stay.
It could be in a month we've had 3/4 quality players come in and we stand a great chance, but after first piece of engagement I really dont like the way info is drip fed out with no direct quotes from our owners whatsoever.
For all his comments about family hailing from Yorkshire, would have thought we would have heard from our co owner and vice chairman:
https://www.leedsunited.com/club/corporate/ownership/rudy-cline-thomas
Would also be nice if they could update squad pages to this season's kit and add in Ampadu and get rid of Wober etc.
Where's the action part 3

Chatter starting about 49ers looking at using our
Peacock badge for a rebrand. Already appearing
in shirt design and promo imagery. Hopefully
they get a top notch design firm on it and just add
a modern touch to it. If that's what they're doing.
