UNITED 6TH harsh

Good picks. Might switch around Liverpool and arsenal and knock spurs right out of top half.

I'm more interested in Serie A. Any chance Roma hold on to 6th place when Juventus don't have a massive points deduction?

Swap round Spurs and "Don't care" and you're not far away

Are you really more interested in how Roma will finish than United? Seems strange for a supposed United fan

In the context of a thread written by a Mourinho superfan who puts Jose's accumulating catalogue of failures down to mistreatment by clubs, yes, I'm more interested in talking about Roma. You predicted he'd do spectacularly because he was being backed by the club unlike his mistreatment by Spurs and United. And guess what: he was lavishly backed and has taken Roma backwards with his outdated attritional methods. Would have finished 7th if not for Juve's points fine.

Mourinho has succeeded at Roma. He won the conference league and almost won the Europa league. That’s incredible for a club or Roma’a stature.

I know United fans chose to laugh and the time and be ignorant, but had you paid attention to Mourinho’s speech about football heritage, your understand the importance of putting achievements into context.

Failed to get top 5 in 2 seasons, even when Juventus had a points deduction. I would say overall it's been average.

Roma had been regularly challenging for the title and comfortably finishing in CL spots until a couple of years before Mourinho arrived. His appointment was also accompanied by a major uptick in investment, which comfortably outstripped the sides Roma needed to overtake to get back into the top 4. You'd imagine that the Greatest Manager in the World could do better with that financial backing than consolidating the club's position as 6th-7th best. Congratulations nonetheless for winning the third tier European competition, especially in beating off the stiff challenge of the giant clubs that entered the Conference League after finishing third in the Europa group stages. And of course still no one surpasses Mourinho in his dedication to gaining a competitive edge through generating death threats against referees.

Have city signed anyone? Seems to me they've sold 2 of their best players and not replaced them. Pep always has a plan I guess

1. City - A level above everyone
2. Arsenal - A level above the rest
3 onwards will be a scrap
Newcastle might struggle with the extra CL games
Depends how serious Liverpool take Europa
Both competing with United/Spurs/Chelsea/ Brighton
for remaining 2 spots

Newcastle/Villa

I think City are by far the best side and will win it again and pretty comfortably. After that I am really not sure, 2-6 could really be in any order and I think even Villa could give top 4 a run. Overall tho I can see both Liverpool and Chelsea having a massively improved season this year (suppose that wouldn’t be hard for Chelsea) and Spurs will be exciting under Ange and could surprise a few (depending on keeping or replacing Kane). I think both Arsenal and Newcastle will struggle in relation to last year. I think Arsenal still don’t have the best squad and will find it more difficult having more than just the league to focus on, and while Rice is a very good holding midfielder he isn’t a player to take them to the next level, could easily still make top 4 tho. Newcastle I just think completely over achieved last year, their lineup and squad is still not on a par with the ‘big’ clubs and they also had a clear run at the league last year which they don’t this year. Can’t see them being top 4 again and will fight it out for a top 6 place in my opinion.

No Europe could be a big factor compared to the likes of Villa and Newcastle who will have it for the first time in ages.
