The £59.1m mentioned above does not include matchday revenue, increased sponsorship deals, TV money etc etc.
-----------------
Why would having Kane at Spurs increase match day revenue or TV revenue? There will be no impact with or without Kane. You will always sell out matchday, and TV revenue is an agreed deal.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm referring to Champions League match day revenue

were Spurs never planning on getting into the CL after Kane retires then ?
If you dont think you can get a striker this season to sign for you this season when you have an extra 90/100+m to help and a season worth of Kanes wages, then what makes you think you can do so next year FFP might mean your spending might have to be curtailed slightly with no euro football at all this season

hopefully, we won't have to face the situation of trying to get an expensive striker and be in danger of encroaching FFP rules.

I dont know if there will be any but if there is restrictions then it isnt gonna help.
this season from a FFP POV you will be allowed to spend more than next season I think. so if you take that bigger budget and the money made from Kanes sale it could be a damn site easier to replace him this season than next. and in the long term thats what more important... not keeping him another season , not helping him break records but by making sure your best placed to replace him when he is no longer there.

Unless Haaland is leaving at some point I don't see City being interested. Chelsea will be appealing to Kane if he wants stay in London.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kane wouldn’t sign for a London rival ….he would destroy his relationship with Tottenham fans , something he obviously cares about or Bayern wouldn’t be tempting him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You thought Campbell wouldn't do that but he did. Nothing is impossible in football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You are right that nothing will surprise us, but what you say does ignore the characters of the 2 people involved. RSol was a liar who strung the club along, and Kane is the opposite.
While Kane will still be free to choose, he would never go to Arsenal, which highlights the difference between the 2. Whether that loyalty extends to Chelsea, is a tougher one, especially as Poch is now there.
What would make the difference is whether they have UCL because no one bar City can guarantee trophies so for me its either City and Pep is likely leaving them in 2025. if he doesnt join City then anyone in the UCL has a chance of getting him, including us keeping him if we make it.

Yeah you’re right spurs always spend large sums of money well
No point keeping the best striker in the world around to try and win something, help develop Scarlett, play some amazing football, get back into Europe, get large sponsorship deals etc
Just bung levy 85 million instead, I’m sure he will spend it and ensure all the above happens. Maybe he will work with our DOF to develop our strategy.
Why in earth would I want Kane around when I can watch levy spend money instead?
It worked so well with the bale money. That didn’t set us back years at all.

As some have said you are asking Levy to make a logical financial decision....which is what he is criticised for by fans in most of his dealings.
Keeping Kane is a risk, but there is a possible upside that will mitigate the lost revenue from his sale.

The upside being having a world class striker at our football club for at least another season. Call me nuts but I quite like watching Kane at spurs.
85 million is like four and a bit Jed spences to Daniel levy.
Think CL is a bit unreasonable expectation wise.
If Kane stays, how good to Spurs have to do for Lane to sign a new deal? Surely at least CL place and at least a cup?
Newcastle will only spend more next summer so I can't see Spurs qualifying for CL getting any easier in the future.

If it's the video I'm thinking of, they apparently had to withdraw it and update it because it didn't fully take account of all elements, and when it did - the maths is a lot closer.
Personally I'm in favour of keeping Kane and taking the risk on a loss. But can completely understand those who think it makes more sense to take the money.

Or 8 Christian Eriksen's, 17 Dele Alli's, 17 Gareth Bale's etc, etc. You get my point.
Look, obviously I want Kane to stay. He's our best ever player but you have to look at this rationally, without emotion. In 9 months time there's an enormous chance he's gone. He will then need to be replaced, at which point everyone here will scream at Levy for not going big on a replacement. If that is the case, it's because we didn't sell at the most sensible point to reinvest for the future.
We all want our best player to stay but not at the expense of our future. I think they're lining up a short term deal with Kane to sign a year extension with a release clause allowing him to leave for a certain figure next year. Then he has a year to assess how things are going under Ange, he's not priced out of a move away and Spurs still get some money for him. There is absolutely no chance Levy is letting an asset this valuable walk away for a free. Not. A. Chance.
He either wants more money from Bayern or he's striking a deal with Kane for a short term deal.

If he goes next year, does it really matter if we get nothing for him? He cost us nothing and I think it’s safe to say we’ve had our moneys worth out of him. And we’ve got enough money in the bank to attempt at replacing him. Keep him as long as possible I say.

Well, no, maybe not technically when you have players like Hoddle, Gascoigne and Bale in your history but there's something that much greater about a legend that's one of our own. Even your beloved Jimmy Greaves can't call himself that, given he started at Chelsea.

And tell me, aside from the blind luck of developing a generational talent in your academy, what's considered the best way of ensuring we keep having great players?
That's right. Money.
Honestly the short-sightedness of some on here is absurd.

Don’t give a monkeys about the maths. I want to see our greatest ever player play for our club for as long as I can.

No Spurs fan expects it, ever. Its a hope and a good pre season has raised hopes a bit.
