I thought Kilman was second worst after Semedo. Dawson not much better.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course you did cinci. But then everyone on this forum will know what your comments about Ait Nouri will be the next time he plays and the time after that etc etc, because you give him praise every game no matter whether he plays good, bad or indifferent. So silly
Kilman will never be the kind of captain that Coady was and I’m not sure we have any other player that can give the visible leadership that people like to see. What I do gather is that he is the most respected player in the dressing room and that’s why he’s been given the role
So I understand, but in a game like today leadership is evident, or not, when the team has its back to the wall. Not convinced, but not sure if the alternative.
Do find it impressive that Brighton have a turnover of players every summer yet keep coming up with players to fill the void and they continue to be an impressive team with an excellent style of play. They lost Macalister and Caicedo for big fees that would be a loss to any team yet keep moving on. Mitoma is certainly a top player and very impressed with Enciso today who has great ability and a fantastic work rats
Just read O’Neils comments. Apparently he thinks we’re creating chances but not converting them. No Shat Sherlock.
I think that’s the difficulty wulfrun, if not Kilman who do you give the arm band to? Probably the likes of Dawson and Lemina come to mind but neither of them played well today and not sure how much they’d be the other players choice
Kilman today did step in and literally dragged Nunes away from trouble when he’d lost his rag in the first half and got booked. Unfortunately he was at the other end of the field when his blue touch paper got lit again at the end

Although we were outplayed first half, we could have scored a couple. Fabio and Ait Nouri’s chances were the type you just have to take. Don’t think Hwang would be my choice to start based on his overall game but he does score a few

Haven't praised Ait-Nouri today. He wasn't great. But defensively he was by far the least to blame as Brighton rarely went down that side and the damage was mostly done on the right.
Someone has to start next week in place of Nunes. Hwang or Sarabia. Probably the former for me.
It’s just factually incorrect to say Brighton rarely attacked us on the left side of our defence and the move for two of their goals started from that side. The player Ait Nouri was detailed to mark scored two and made one. For their one goal Ait Nouri tracked March from the halfway line and actually had first run on him. But when the ball came in it was March who got there first and scored. Poor defending

Ah, so it had nothing to do with how the chance was created but the fizzed in cross which is a nightmare to defend is where the blame lay. Got it.
31% down our left, 38% down our right.
The action zones also highlight Semedo being pushed back further than Ait-Nouri and Brightons player position view is a diagonal / basically showing they made more ground on our right than left
Ait-Nouri also made the most tackles today
despite not being targeted. A couple of good tackles further up the pitch.
with Nunes being banned now and I believe a straight red, he will miss three games?
Wouldn't be surprised to see a back three next game with him out.
You’ll never get it cinci. RAN was ahead of March when they were running towards our goal but when the cross came in March was there first. The defender should not allow that to happen
If those stats are correct then 7% more attacks came down the right than the left. That translates into they barely attacked on the left does it? They will attack a little more on the other side because Mitoma is their star player
Pleased you’ve been able to find some good stats for RAN but I’ve seen two sets of ratings for the game now and both gave him 3 out of 10
Nunes was given two yellows so hopefully only a one game ban. Can’t see us changing the shape of the team due to his absence. We have Traore, Sarabia or Hwang who could come in
He was easily the pick of our defence today, not that that says too much.
Kilman and Semedo were both awful, Dawson also struggled massively.
Madness we turned down 35 million for Kilman if those rumours were true as well.
Good news on Nunes if that was a second yellow for the red. He looked the best of our midfield today to me. Still think we see a back three next week.
wish we were in the position of arguing who played the best rather than the worse!
Delighted we retained Kilman,
You are deluded if you think Ait Nouri was easily better than any player on the field today. I would agree that Dawson was no better
But let’s not get carried away here. Brighton settled the game by ripping us apart for 5 minutes or so. For the other 85 minutes we created as many chances as they did
As at Old Trafford I thought Cunha was our best player by some distance today
Nunes can look really good when carrying the ball but his passing let’s him down quite often

Least worse of the defence. Not best on the field. I actually think Cunha, Nunes and Silva were the only ones that played 'well'.
But that said, it is easy to get bogged down with the goals but overall I agree we were far from terrible overall and right now i don't think we need to shat the bed and rip things up trying to find a solution.
