BBC News - Mason Greenwood: Manchester United striker will leave club after internal investigation
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66554874
I'm just glad we have some closure. It's done with and we can move on. They made a decision. Wooooooo!
Expected. United didn't want the backlash
The power of Rachel Riley
Correct decision from United.
The fact that they have stated he didn't commit the crimes he was arrested for is huge. They must be absolutely certain to say that.
"Based on the evidence available to us, we have concluded that the material posted online did not provide a full picture and that Mason did not commit the offences in respect of which he was originally charged. That said, as Mason publicly acknowledges today, he has made mistakes which he is taking responsibility for."
What a load of shiiit, if he didn’t commit the offences then why not release the evidence and context?
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/66554874
We need 3 strikers.
Next question is where will he go ?
While I’m not sure he was beyond a 2nd chance it’s the right decision overall.

Definitely the stand out quote and once again doesn't tell us what actually happened does it?

Italy or Saudi Arabia.
Shambles that they waited for the season to start to do this. Glad its all done with.
Good decision by both the club and the player. I have to say that the club have handled this every well considering they were in a catch 22 situation.

Fack off. You’ve been arguing the opposite for ages.
Personally I don't care one way or the other about him going but for them to say he didn't do it so outrightly raises more questions than answers.
Greenwood: “I did not do the things I was accused of, and in February I was cleared of all charges. However, I fully accept I made mistakes in my relationship”
What mistake is that then if you didn’t hit a girl?

After the backlash in the last week no other decision was gonna happen. It was looking the other way a couple weeks ago

Eh? Did you not read the Athletic article last week? They were preparing to bring him back until it was leaked and social media kicked off. They’ve handled this absolutely awful.
I presume that though he threatened rape, he didn't actually rape her.
It's the only conclusion I can come to, but am happy to admit I'm wrong if it is so.

I was about to post this. Very telling statement. And for the idiots that said he has never come out to defend himself, he has now. Of course he kept his mouth shut whilst this was going on.
Trial by the mob. A very dangerous society we live in.
This statement is not exactly painting the club in a good light either, why are you letting go of a player if they didn’t commit a crime according to them?
