At the risk of getting kicked, didn't think Cresswell
looked that good last night. He was okay. But, if
Rodon's injured at any point, we could be in trouble.

Pressure pressure pressure.... the great players handle it consistently and perform to their true potential at clubs with big expectations which usually coincides with a large fan base while others struggle but at a club with lower expectations and a smaller fan base they find their level which will more than likely be the fate of the above mentioned players set to leave Leeds either permanently or on loan.

Everytime I saw Drameh play for Luton, i wasnt that impressed, especially in play offs.

Why havent they come in for him 🤷🏻‍♂️ Its obvious any decent offer and we’d have sold him.

Am certain he never will a prem regular.

Desperate for Cresswell to be great, but has Jonty says, he’s fourth choice at a championship side, which has been leaking goals.

Do I think he will be Leeds regular. NO.

The good old excuse for youngsters.

Leeds is too big club for them to handle 🤦

Struijk is just about better in every aspect so far than Cresswell but hes not Richard Cresswells son so he cant be better.

Agree on Drameh. I said a few weeks back (on here)
play Drameh ahead of Bill, and see what we have.
If he's crap, we'll categorically know. Turns out he kinda
is crap. At least playing for us. Sell him for whatever
we can and move on. Spence, Bill, and Shacks should
easily be enough at RB.

Big fan of Struijk, Outwood. Always hoped for the best
for him. His confidence was totally shot last season.
I blame the motivational speaker for that.

Marcelo handled him brilliantly. Tough love. Looks like
Farke is handling him just as brilliantly. Instilling the
belief that he belongs. Probably helps that he also has
Rodon and Coops to learn from too.

Saying that i do think Cresswell will have a part to play this season. Injuries etc will mean he will get games

Midfield looks so light though. We cant rely on Archie Gray all season. Hopefully two are coming in if Greenwood is leaving.

Just read Paintsil to Southampton is back on!

Phil Hay recently said that West Ham, Crystal Palace, Brentford and Southampton are all interested in Drameh.

Good grief. Sure, you can have him for 10 million.

Sometimes players have to move away from ER to reach their full potential, I am at a loss as to why Drameh can look a different class for the U23's carry that on into Cardiff and Luton and yet when he pulls on the shirt for our first team he's a different player, maybe it's the weight of expectation, maybe because he's unhappy, maybe because he has been played out of position. He will go on and have a successful career in the Premier league of that I am certain.
Joffy, I think needed continuity, he lost his way under Marsch and has never really got it back.
Cresswell will be a quality Premier centre back he is 21 and time is on his side. He made his Premier League debut at 19.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He is 21, but 4th choice CB in the Championship.

I really don't see him paying much this season.

So when/how does 4th choice Championship centre back morph into quality Prem centre back?

----------------------------------------------------------------------
2nd choice in his position. Only needs an injury and he's playing week in/week out.
He played 28 times for Millwall last season and they had a good season, had to unsettle an established pairing in Hutchinson and Cooper, kept his place when Hutchinson was fit again. Hutchinson back playing at the heart of the Millwall defence again this season.
You write people off too easily. Harry Maguire, England international was 24 before he made his first premier league start. Cresswell was 19.

He's not cr@p, the lad has been messed around by the club and when he has been "given a chance" it's at some weird hybrid position or left back when he's a right back. Put Bill at back and see how he gets on.
He needs a move cos the club have messed his head up.

I've seen Bill at right back the last 2 + seasons.
He has the turning radius and speed of a canal barge.
No thank you. Bill's been a brilliant servant but father
time has caught up.

For me, Spence is our starter. Shacks is back up.
And Bill is third choice. Sell Drameh. But that's just me.

If struyk, cooper and cresswell are only ones fit, Cresswell isnt starting. 4th choice.

Seem to be rewriting history pal, couldnt get in Millwall side at times, and struggled. Even to point, Leeds were on verge of recalling him.

And what does, Maguire have to do with anything 🤷🏻‍♂️ It has ZERO influence on whats going to happen to Cresswell.

Loads of players have started a prem game in their teens, to then be not good enough.

On that basis should we write off Cresswell, no of course not, in the same way, just because a player didnt start a prem game until 24 means he’s going to be next Bobby Moore.

I'm not writing anyone off, just simply asking how do you expect him to morph into a Pro quality centre back when he is 4th choice championship centre back at present.

The reality is he wont play that much for us this season, so how does he develop from 4th choice champ centre back to prem quality centre back.

I'm keen to understand how you see that transition happening this season.

You've been clear in what you think he'll become, how does that happen at Leeds for him?

I think the reality is, the Orta period of LUFC was
utterly dire. There were the odd gems. But, we had
our pants pulled down over and over as the greased
haired Monchi-wanna be flitted around Europe's
and the UK's car boot sales. Time to clear out as
much of that dross as possible.

Came in as third choice centre back, was out injured at the tail end of the season with a fractured eye socket so missed well over a month, yet played 28 times. Yes he struggled early on but he was 20. How good were you at your job at that age? Look at Millwall's line-ups from Jan onwards this year Cresswell and Cooper.
For some of that time Hutchinson was injured but not all of it, he was on the bench, Cresswell was the 1st choice in that position. It may be a coincidence, but Millwall's form dipped badly when Cresswell got injured. I followed his form as closely as I could, it wasn't easy, you don't get as good local paper write ups and the Millwall presence on here doesn't exist, but where there were reviews of games. Cresswell featured favourably.

Of course other CB's have featured as teanagers it was just to illustrate to Jonty that Cresswell is still a kid. Bringing Maguire into it was to illustrate that people mature at different ages. People seem really keen to write these lads off.

It doesn't happen for anyone over a season, of course not, not sure I ever implied it would. But are you really saying you don't expect him to have any opportunity.

Cooper is due back from his foot injury shortly after the international break but we all know that it's only going to be a week or two before he picks up another injury.
It would then only take an injury or suspension to either Rodon or Struijk and the choice is then Bill or Cresser. I think he will play a lot this season.

So you think he will be Prem quality, you just don't know how he goes from 4th choice champ CB to Prem quality.

I'll give you my view, the only way he becomes Prem quality is if he is playing every week, stands out in defence every week, helps keep clean sheets regularly.

Do you see that happening for him at Leeds?

I don't.

Which means he has to go out on loan. He's already done that and returned to club where he was 4th/5th choice to being 3rd choice and then had someone brought in ahead of him, so that hasn't worked for him, he's effectively trodden water for a year and he's going to have to do it again, or in 2 years time he gets sold to Champ team.

Exactly .... only a few years ago some were convinced Kalvin should be nowhere near a championship promotion side - but he's progressed a bit since.

Can't we just hope that Cresser forms an important piece of a promotion winning side. Where he develops in the future, as you say, time will tell.

He could emulate Maguire, better even, but that's down to him to develop his game (with good coaching too). That's how Kalvin pushed on I believe. Always a player there, just needed the right coaching. Maybe Farke, given time, will improve him. At 19 he's certainly got room, lots of it, to improve wouldn't you say?

We cant afford to let any more go out on loan. He will play a part this season. No way Rodon doesn't get an injury at some point. Plus he's still young. Most young players have to bide their time.

Think Archie Gray will get to the top if we don't burn him out- crazy he's only 17 as he's so mature in how he plays. Just hope its with us!
