Ideally we should get Bailly, Donny and Greenwood out the door today too. But its not looking likely.

Altay, Reguilon and possibly Amrabat is what i expect today. I dont think we will do a deal for McT, as it would mean we need another CM.

Beeky hasn’t been able to find a new club all summer, either he’s asking for too much money or we just can’t get the fee we want for him. I think he’s gonna stay.

If we sell McTominay today and Amrabat comes in we will be short in midfield. We need strength in depth seeing as we’re in 4 competitions this season.

I think Casemiro, Eriksen, Mount, Bruno, Mainoo, Hannibal and Amrabat would be sufficient cover in midfield for now. A good mix of profiles there too.

Like RR and others have stated (see my McT article last night!) a serious club would now be selling McT to Fulham and snapping up Todibo having already done the groundwork for that deal. Surely he'd go for going from Nice to United even at this last minute. Then the window looks much better!

If we do get Amrabat over the line real credit must go the player himself who, by all reports, really wants to join United. The kind of signing in terms of character we need.

Real shame he got injured as he was probably the stand out performer pre season

It is indeed a real shame. However, the flip side to that possibly is that we may not have moved for Amrabat had he been fit. We need quality numbers in there and, when everyone is fit, I think we have decent quality there.

There's no many potential knock-on consequences and implications for United's and other club's transfers if we sign Amrabat. The range of possibilities and complexities are hard to get your head round. I'm not sure I want to go down that Rabat hole.

Manchester United will bid again for Sofyan Amrabat. Decision made, up to Fiorentina then 🚨🔴 #MUFC

Amrabat has no plans to join Fulham or any other club despite links: Man Utd, his priority since June.

He’s been very clear also in the last 24h, he wants United.

I'm not expecting the Amrabat deal to go through. If the Arsenal game this weekend was at OT, I think they'd maybe find the money to get it done. But there's no home game for over a fortnight and the Glazers will no doubt be thinking it's worth taking the chance that the protests won't be quite so vociferous by then

I don’t think our budget stretches to private jets. He is flying Ryanair.

Not a great window tbh. I know we need to see how they actually perform but other than Onana I don’t see ready made players at their peak (or near it) that can come in and take us up another level which for a club like us at the level we’re at is what we need.

Mount obviously has performed to a very good standard at Chelsea but it remains to be seen if he can operate in the role EtH has seemingly bought him for. But he needs time to settle and get any sort of rhythm with his team mates.

Hojlund is a huge risk. I know the market for strikers was pretty dry but still, on paper he is a long way off being the main striker for a club our size. I know there’s a lot of potential there but with the state of our striker options he will be expected to perform well from the start (which isn’t his fault at all).

Onana is a proven keeper nearing his peak years who clearly has a style of play the manager wants. He’ll have his mistakes but overall I think it was a very positive signing for a reasonable price (although he was available for free last year).

Reguilion I don’t expect much, although I appreciate the injury to Shaw put us in a difficult position. I just don’t think he offers much of what Shaw does, importantly Shaw’s ability to cut inside and help in midfield which will impact how we play, I’m guessing we may see more of Dalot at RB to help with that.

Turkish keeper, hard to judge a sub keeper although doesn’t really sound like he plays like Onana which is a bit of an issue. If Onana is off to the ACoN in January (which the club should have known about) then he’s going to have to step in and perform. If we’re not using the Henderson money to buy anyone maybe he would have been a better alternative?

Amrabat on paper ticks a lot of boxes but if he was really a player EtH wanted then you think we would have moved on McTominay to secure him. Leaving it this late and the way we’ve gone about getting him suggests he isn’t that much of a priority.

A big issue for me has been moving players on and raising money. The main issue seemed to be the large wages our players are on which is clearly the fault of Woodward. Did we sell Bailly or just release him? Why have we rejected deals for VdB? Why did we make a statement about getting rid of Greenwood and now supposedly want a loan/transfer for him?

Maybe I’m being harsh and I hope I’m wrong and they do well for us. I’ve just found the way we’ve gone about our transfers a bit of a mess and we’re being linked with far too many players EtH has managed. Still think the club a long way off being at a level we should expect and the way we dealt with Greenwood has highlighted that for me.

I can’t believe Bayern fleeced Liverpool for €40m for someone who started three games

Is it not obvious whenever they sell anyone it’s for a reason.

I’m surprised they weren’t accused of releasing Covid, everything they let go causes rampant damage to whoever takes them ha

There should be no heartburn.
We are run by imbeciles.

Doing this much business on the last day is a sign of desperation.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The amount of injuries we have picked up since pre season has forced this on us.

It would be the same for competent owners.

We need to clear out a lot of players and if some of them go today then so be it. Same goes for new signings to combat the injuries.

So because he couldn't break one of the best teams in the world's cm he's not a good signing?

————————

Surely that’s obvious

We are about the £££

We need him to go on loan, gauge the reaction, let other clubs gauge the reaction

Then we can either welcome him back or sell him for his actual footballing worth when clubs know the storms over
