----------------------------------------------------------------------
Saudi deadline is later than the PLs so they could even bid afterwards.
I reckon they’ll increase the bid and you’ll accept.
Of course it’ll be a huge loss but you still have Jota, Nunez, Gakpo and Diaz which could thrive in the absence of Salah
Bring in Bakayoko at short notice and take 175 million????? FSG classic moneyball....

No point in selling him unless we get a replacement in.
As good as they are that only leaves us with 4 players for 3 positions before we're relying on kids.

Let's enjoy Salah last season
We will still demand 100m next season from the Saudis

Well I mean we were looking at spending over £200m this summer and that's with keeping him. That would have got us three players, Caicedo, Szoboszlai and Mac Allister. Selling Salah you'd have to be paying around £100m for a replacement and what's the rest get you? Very little in today's market. The club have no choice to sell Salah this summer as we have no plan to replace him in place.

Yeah but he wasn't on Robbs list.
Do we really want Doak as our main RWF? I don't.
Fact is there isn't another RWF in world football that posts Salah's numbers.
It'd be an absolutely terrible footballing decision to sell now.
Genuinely thought if an offer of that amount came in, the club would sell - Talk about a massive profit for a 31-year old.

Not a chance. Earlier in the window possibly. Last day of the window, zero chance.
I wonder what Salah will be thinking the money on offer to him is mental plus it’s tax free, it will be some dedication to Pool it’s not turned his head, wouldn’t trust FSG in this either.
This is why we buy crap players to avoid this type of problem
It's only 100m now and 50 in add ons. Think that is a bit poor for a deadline day offer. If it was 150 now and then 25 to 50 in add ons then I could see the difficulty.
Real issue is what could we get for him in a years time? And is the extra amount now more than the value he will give us this year? I'd say no to that even at a straight 150.

But Liverpool still wouldn't be able to replace him. Which is my point. They should have made the deal happen sooner to give Liverpool that time.
Not sure why you wouldn't trust FSG. The decisions to buy and sell have always been up to the people they employ, ie. The transfer team, which includes the manager. Klopp decides whether to let players go with the rest of the team and thus far he has only let three go he didn't want to, Coutinho who put in a transfer request and Henderson and Fabinho who were coming to the end of their careers and we had time to go into the market to replace them. There is no time which is why it was rejected, obviously.

This. Last year of contract I still think k we can get at least 100 mil for him.
If I was Salah I'd see out my contract and take an absolutely insane wage at 33.

I reckon it’s a PR stunt. They know we wouldn’t sell at that price on deadline day, but it’s created headlines. Free publicity.

Am sure the offer will still be there but in the meantime he is missing an additional 1.3 million per week tax free above his current wages that’s a lot of money so fair play to him if he doesn’t kick up a fuss to leave.
Suppose it depends on how much he values still trying to win major trophies as he'll know as soon as he joins Saudi his career is done outside of AFCON/world cup.
Plus if he did lead us to another Prem title he could probably ask for even more money.
