Liverpool played 8 pre-season friendlies then in the CS before last season got underway.
The aftermath should have been a lesson to every other club with aspirationsof the title or a top 4 finish.

Yeah we had quite a few injuries as well last season. Our squad isn’t the most robust, to be honest. But given how many cup games we’ve played since covid facked the footballing schedule, we’ve played a lot of games with short turn around times. It’s not something that is unique to United in regard to the schedule causing more injuries than usual. The footballing authorities haven’t done much to look after the welfare of the players.

could be pure stereo type lazy stuff from me , but it is common for the dutch to prefer this route in their pre- season.
We had that with Van Bronkhorst @ Rangers, he ran a "traditional" dutch pre season and the difference in our injuries was insane from previous.
again could be co-incidence and laziness but something to think about.

Didn't we play more games than anyone else last season?
I think the whole extra time bits for both halves needs looking at.
Yeah I get that actual minutes in play can be an issue with time wasters however the throw in and corners offered a breather to players too.
Now they are laying at least 15 minutes more in the game.
Normally say in a game of 90 minutes. You actually play about say 70.
Now it's the full shabang and possibly twice a week.
On a wider note I think players are rushed back from injury as the options are limited.
As far as I know Martials problems go back to I jury at Oles tile that wasn't diagnosed properly and hence not treated right. Even his loan club said so.
That's not blaming Open by the way just happen d during that period. Rashford faced similar. Luke Shaw too late believe.
Nothing new here. I mean look at Michael Owen

Yep it’s going to fack players up even more. As per usual, the footballing authorities haven’t consulted players and clubs on things that will impact their well being.

Yeah, I'd be surprised if our preseason schedule hasn't had some impact on the current injury situation
Liverpool played five pre season games and had issues with inhaler supplies. They played nine pre season games the season before that and played every game possible the season after. I’d say that Liverpool’s bigger problem was the cumulative fatigue of the season before, as with United playing so many last season, more than the number of pre season games.
Speaking of injuries, Bailly has finally facked off.
