"It makes them play better, for sure."

So blasé Just a few million.

Is the abuse even that bad? I feel like the media love writing about it for clicks but other than him being a bit of a joke I genuinely don't see the excessive abuse he gets. When players are sh-t they get a bit of abuse, that's part of football, slabhead currently is playing terribly and it righly gets pointed out.

"I know when I have not started a game in the first four games of the season, the story comes to me," said Maguire.

"But yeah, I'm over the moon, I mean it doesn't matter which end it goes in.... a goal is a goal."

Ronaldo got way more abuse than this chump, and it made him a better player.

Maguire has just become a bit of a parody now.

And he's too thick to realise it's what he does on the pitch that makes him the target. He's been stealing a living since day 1 and Woodward was a mug to even consider him let alone make him a record transfer.

People going way too far though. It's absolute stupid. As if Harry Maguire is the reason our club is failing. We were failing before he joined and we will fail long after he leaves if this ownership doesn't change.

Our fans seem to want to have someone to blame everything on constantly. Rashford was the guy for many people until he turned a corner again. Now it's back to Maguire again. Even seen Mount being labelled a flop and he's played two bleeding games and a total of about 150-160mins.

This fanbase deserves what we get sometimes.

Other than being calamitous it's not his fault, that's true.

He is part of the foundation of the team, he was captain, he should be steading his troops. He rarely instills calm, he is quite often the source of our defensive issues.

However, one player does not make the team, I agree. But taking the talking, which he often does, he courts attention because he is that deluded to believe he is worthy of his price tag, he believes he's the best. With such delusion you have to accept the level of criticism he's getting. If he was sensible he would have left by now.

Important in any walk of life to be able to read the room, be aware of your employer, stakeholders, industry. be able to seek and accept independent, impartial advice and make decisions in light of all the above. Maybe he has and thinks he's arrived at he best? You have to live or die by that.

Other than having a certain level of wealth and and past history of success Utd are anything but the best post Ferguson. But I can see why Maguire would have thought he's arrived at the best place. Utd have proved over and over again having money means nothing when you don't have a plan and the right people in place. Idiots and money part very quickly!

When Maguire is absolutely atrocious on the pitch, doesn't get picked for best part of the season and still thinks he can add something then you have to question he's not all there. Players with high standards tend to move on unless this player suffers from delusions of grandeur.

posted on 14/9/23

As has been said many times Maguire is a metaphor of what Utd have become, he is a calamity, so are the club. Maybe we deserve him, we deserve being the laughing stock for the owners we have who recruit idiots like Woodward, for example. They have single handedly destroyed Utd as a football club, despite the club generating all the wealth, we end up wasting it.

It is an extraordinary state of affairs, you cannot script it. It's simply tragic.

He is a squad who thinks he's a starter, but also a captain who was unfairly deposed of the title. A toxic concoction.

Think it's weird that people get so heavily invested and emotionally sensitive about a footballer, personally. It always go way past general critique.

If an actor makes a string of bad films I don't start attacking them personally.

Football is more toxic than its ever been, with social media and 24/7 discussion leading to tons of click bait and mob riling in order to keep pushing out content. None of this should get personal but the amount of really over the top insults and slews is absurd now.

There's very little fun or joy in football these days, everyone is so hyper sensitive and take results really personally, mostly because they'll know they'll get loads of stick on tiktok or whatever.

An awful lot of stuff said about Maguire has gone too far. Thick people will do what thick people do though and play mental gymnastics to justify it.

Insert someone saying "but he's paid loads". Cool, we'll all treat you like dirt then because compared to lots of people across the world, you're paid loads. Dumbest and yet most common response I see regarding this sort of thing.

Not really comparable.
If that actor came out after 50 terrible movies, at the same time as being the lead actor on all of them, and being paid a handsome fortune, and being the worst actor in the movie... I can bet you that this person would receive abuse, especially if they came out with ridiculous comments like Maguire has over the years, and getting arrested in Greece "do you know who I am".

Look at all the abuse Chris eubank jr receives. Maguire "abuse" pales in comparison.

The difference between the two characters is that eubank is an arrogant, intelligent tos ser with loads of ability.
Maguire is an arrogant, stupid to sser with no ability.
Eubank loves the abuse, Maguire, it makes him 100x worse.
