Neto has made all of the last 4 goals Wolves have scored. Great to see him getting back to being the player he was before his injury
Luton starting to look like quite a big game.
It’s a game we could do with winning especially with the run of difficult home games to come. But with 33 games still to play let’s not get overly dramatic about it being a must win
Speaking about Nunes this week, Guardiola has said he is very good at dribbling with the ball but his first touch needs to improve.
Certainly recognise those comments and I think his passing needs to become more reliable too. But no surprise if Guardiola and his team work on those shortcomings and get him to fulfil his potential
Luton definitely feeling like a must win. Games against our relegation rivals are going to be key.
Luton isn't literally a must win but a defeat would really crank up the pressure big time.
If we beat Luton, we'll be on 6 points after 6 games, with a difficult run of fixtures to start the season. To he honest, we could easily have been on that amount at that point under Lopetegui.
As soon as the fixtures came out the possibility was there that we wouldn’t win any of our first six home games. Two gone in Brighton and Liverpool. Still games against Man City, Villa, Newcastle and Spurs to come. The current top 4 in the league amongst that lot.
But we got points away at Everton and now in the next 4 away we have Luton, Bournemouth, Sheffield Utd and Fulham. Got to hope we win at least two of those
If we got to 13 points from 13 games at the end of November that would be an ok position with many of our most difficult home games then behind us.
It puts the stolen point against Yernited into sharper perspective for them as well as us.
Every game is important but I do think points are going to be hard to come by this season and dropping any against teams around us will hurt. Agree with cinci actually, if we can keep it to a point a game through this tough period it will set us up.
Spangles, not Cinci .... whoops
You agree with me Goldi. Embrace it
That’s the time to worry, when you agree with wolfie.
19 year old Chirewa has joined Wolves u21s on a permanent transfer from Ipswich. He made 3 first team appearances for Ipswich while with their academy but didn’t renew his contract with them this summer
Just noticed that, with 3 goals, Hwang is the 5th highest scorer in the Prem. If he continues to score at his present rate he will achieve 21 goals over the season. Our striker problem is solved
Not only that his goal conversion - goals per shot - is the highest in the league, 50%. Haaland is only 28%, so clearly nowhere near as good as Hwang.
It is a shame Hwang is mostly crap because he certainly knows where the goal is.
To be fair to Hwang I do think he has won over most Wolves fans with his performances this season and the latter part of last season. His work rate certainly can’t be questioned and he does have the habit of popping up in the right place at the right time. Not sure I’d put him in the first 11 if everyone was fit but he’s certainly worth having on the bench
He does suit the pressing style.
Certainly a worthy squad player at this stage
Hwang works hard and presses well, but he isn't very good at tracking runners when the press is broken. He regularly leaves the full back on his side with an overload. Neto is underrated in that respect as he rarely leaves his full back short.
It's difficult to know the best position to play Hwang. Out wide we lose a bit of creativity and defensive solidity. Centrally we lose a bit of presence and hold up play. He's the only player who seems to know where the goal is though.

Let’s play him in front of it then.
Guardiola is saying that Man City are struggling with injuries. We have them at home in 10 days so I'm expecting him to have to put out a really weak team which we'll have no trouble beating comfortably.
A major change to tv scheduling is going to take place when the new rights package is issued to tv companies to bid against. This will result in 25% more Premier League games being shown live on tv every week. For instance there will be 4 live games on a Sunday, all at different times, with the last one kicking off at 6:30
