The fact your players like to beat up women isn’t bad luck

----------------------------------------------------------------------
And the women of course, but the article is about the club.
It’s not bad luck to sign a keeper who doesn’t seem very good at the most basic aspect of his job in stopping s football. Antony doesn’t seem a good signing based on what we’re reading plus he only has one usable foot and can’t beat a man ( no pun intended ) on the outside.
Mason Mount was never required and blew our budget , people yesterday were throwing pelters at Rashford but our captain Bruno was the worst player on the pitch he was non existent giving zero leadership or interest.
ETH is not displaying any ability to tactically change mid game, we were found out yesterday and nullified in about 15 minutes and could not respond other than dismay the crowd by bringing on Martial for a lad who with decent service from the wingers on the bench might have got on the end of something .
The big decisions against us have been technically correct and we got lucky against Wolves.
Not sure luck has anything to do with any of the above other than disconnected ownership, fans and players and a manager getting himself quickly out of his depth in the pressure of the place, some of which is his doing and some not, we never turn up in big away games so a Wednesday could be another Anfield if we’re not careful.
Spending 50m of your budget on a keeper who is a worse shotstopper than the one who got the golden glove with 17 clean sheets last season when you needed strengthening elsewhere. Sure hes better with his feet but your teams clearly not ready for a gk good with his feet anyway so whats the point?
ETH hasnt improved a single player at the club either as far as im aware, thats got to be a big worry too. Got questioned a lot yesterday, why Garnacho and Pellestri didnt start, when he subbed Hojlund for Martial
I'm reserving judgement on Mount. He's made no impact for us, but I saw him have some very good games for Chelsea.
It’s not bad luck, it’s a lack of strategy at the top. What’s United style/philosophy these days? It’s not “attack, attack, attack” it’s not signing the best players, it’s not producing incredible talent, it’s not winning football and I’d argue it’s not particularly entertaining football, so what is it?
Your owners have no clue on the football side and therefore the club lacks footballing vision - it’s commercial vision is fine.
United are going to have a shocking season, 7/8th coming up - bookmark it
ETH should read this. He's blaming your defeat on bad luck.
We're seeing a perfect storm of issues at the moment:
1. Ownership uncertainty
2. Off-field issues (Antony, Sancho, Greenwood)
3. Major on-pitch injury crisis (Mainoo, Mount, Shaw, Varane, Amrabat, Amad, Malacia)
4. Personnel issues; Maguire, McTominay, Beekers & Martial are really only still here through lack of ability to shift them/be able to afford replacements
5. Several key players struggling to find some form after what looks like a less than adequate preseason; Casemiro, Martinez, Rashford, Bruno... None of them really looking at the races yet
As a result of much of the above, we've also played three different systems in 5 games; 4-3-3 in the first two matches (which we hadn't been playing previously under ETH), then back to the more familiar 4-2-3-1, and then the 4-3-1-2 yesterday.
I always worry when managers start chopping and changing their formations; it rarely works.
The lack of a RW in the squad at the moment is a problem but the solution to that problem is to shoe-horn someone into the role on a temporary basis and keep everything else as stable as possible. I don't think changing your entire formation for the sake of one position is the best way to go. We'd have surely looked better with Dalot, for example, at RM ahead of AWB (or give Pellistri a chance), rather than revert to another new formation that allowed Brighton to get out down the sides again and again.
I was saying something similar to my old man. About ETH has had the bad luck.
I believe he expected to have Greenwood back in the side. Hence him training with us.
So now he’s left without 3 key players he thought he would’ve had.
And that’s before you factor in Berba’s litany of other reasons.
I can’t be bothered making the list, but it would be interesting to see a comparison of Greenwood, Antony and Sancho taken away from the other top 7 clubs.

Like Berba has stated, a multitude of issues have combined to create the perfect storm. It is difficult to pinpoint, every single factor from ownership to Eth are culpable. Who is apportioned the greater or lesser degree of blame is also difficult. We are a mess from top to bottom.
We also know from experience that when the chips are down this group of players tend to hide, we need characters and results very quickly before they end up playing under a different manager, again.
I've read somewhere Eth wanted the fitness coach from Ajax, currently we have the same people from SAF's times. Can someone clarify? If that is the case, maybe it is one of the reasons why we look out of puff so quickly in matches. If you are going to back a manager, back him in full.

Why is everything so simple as black and white to you? I have no doubt Sancho, Antony and Greenwood has divided loyalties in the squad, it has fractured any good spirit they had. The manager is having to put out so many fires he is losing focus on what is hired for, to create a winning team on the pitch. He also has new faces in key positions to integrate, those new faces are coming into new environments, new cultures. The new players will need time to settle.
We don't have a settled, calm, winning set up. We are now used to a culture of losing, that is something very difficult to break out of.
Nothing is black and white, especially elite level football!
Good luck versus wolves and forest, bad luck versus Brighton and Arsenal.
I’ve said it on another thread, every game we play seems to come down to fine margins, and we aren’t going to finish top 4 this season that way.

It's a terrible start and if it wasn't for good fortune we could have been looking at 5 defeats out of 5! So luck hasn't deserted us completely but you are right we can ill afford to rely on luck all the time, we need to start converting chances and Rashford needs to learn he has a hungry striker who needs good service from him.
Saying all that our defence is my biggest concern. Until we get two top CBs we will carry on conceding. We also need Casemiro to wake up, make Amrabat is the guy to lift everyone. We just need a fecking spark!
Scholes and Gary Neville often recall how the senior players were the eyes and ears for the manager, the players used to step in and resolve issues before it reached the manager. Who is doing that these days? Who are the characters? Who are the leaders?
