I don't think we can be singling players out. They are all a total shambles. It's true the injuries have caused major issues but it's clearly evident there's major tactical and structural issues in the team too.

If they were better players they'd already be in the team surely?
Pellestri today looked like a school boy playing against men. Casemiro couldn't pass wind. Mount looked lost.
The problem goes way beyond Rashford. In fact without Rashford last season Erik would most likely have already been sacked. That's the real problem.

He's not been very good VC. His goals have papered over the cracks a lot in some games. His passing has been really poor and in the first few games he didn't look like he had been off the beach more than a few days. Looked slow and heavy.
But singling players out is just daft as I have said. We have a poor squad. Lots of injuries too tbf but the quality of our squad isn't good enough.
Rashford causes us the same issues as Ronaldo did.
Bruno isn’t an issue imo, but signing a £70m striker who clearly thrives on balls into the box is.
Mount is average, we knew this.
Onana can’t save a thing.
We’re short in CB.
We still don’t have a midfielder capable of keeping the ball.
We lack speed, strength and stamina all over the pitch.
This group of players would sell their Nan to save their own skin.

Today wasn’t all Rashfords fault by any means, but the midfield did alright. The issue was that every time the ball got to Rashford, Hoijlund it Pellistri the play broke down. They were all absolutely awful,
Casimiro was really poor for the first 3/4 games of the season, but apparently he often starts slow. It doesn’t help he’s often left alone with two midfielders either.

As I said, Rashford is as much of a problem for us as Ronaldo was. Doesn’t work off the ball, when he does he loses his man, always rolling round making half hearted tackles, throwing his arms round if he thought he should’ve got the ball etc.
You wouldn’t mind if he was putting up Ronaldos numbers and performances, but he’s been terrible since March.

Bruno n Rashford for all their flaws are the players who deliver for us more than anyone else.
If people think a Garnacho Hojlund Pellestri/Antony front 3 is getting us back into the top 4 then good luck with that. You will end up disappointed.

I'm not singling out players. If we had a core of 13/14 players playing really well and it was say Rashford n Bruno or even Casemiro letting us down then fair enough.
But the truth is we look well short in all departments. Injuries haven't helped of course but what we are seeing isn't good enough ultimately.
