It’s a system problem tbh.

Playing two wingers that will always come inside then play full backs that tuck inside too.

Means everything ends up congested

Yeah.... i know what you mean but yesterday' cross from porro was so simple... you could almost see Romero wanting Kulu to get out of the way so he could get it to porro so he could put an early ball into a dangerous area, get liverpool facing their own goal and give the attackers something to attack..., it was pretty similar with whatever saw with Perisic from the other side before his injury

If Perisic could’ve come on instead of Solomon then we’d had won earlier imo

Surely playing against 9 or 10 men then the objective is to stretch the pitch, make it as big as possible.... Kulu played well but was terrible at taking advantage considering how much of the ball he got... along term i don't think he's the answer wide on the right. His final ball is poor considering how much of the ball he gets in good areas in this system...

When we are chasing a goal i'd like to see him play centrally... almost as a CF... he's big, strong, technically good, can see a pass and can finish

I might be wrong but i can't think of an occasion at any point this season when our wide players have switched wings in- game.... i think it would give us an extra/ different dimension to our game.... Perisic is just as one footed as Kulu and he did well on the left in terms of his delivery. If i was playing as CF id be so frustrated playing with kulu... by the time the ball gets into the box the space is gone and rarely is there ever a cross in the air or on the ground to run on to... everything stops and we are on our heels

posted on 1/10/23

There's no need for him to cut inside all the time... you always have Son and Madders in central areas.. the winger on the other side attacking the far stick and one of Bissouma and Sarr making a run from deep

Just feels like it's low% football... always trying to cut inside and shoot with his left.... he's too predictable

Ange don’t like the ball being crossed in long against guys waiting to head clear unless it is against a retreating defence hence the inverted side men and pass the ball through the packed big CBs.

Totally agree, I have a feeling that they are not the ideal players that Ange wants, they are what we have atm, expect Johnson to occupy one of the wide spots when he's fit

Yeah... don't get me wrong, i really like Kulu... would just like to mix it up a bit.... either switch sides now and again or add more variety to his game.... the new formation/ approach clearly suits him and he's getting way more of the ball than he did last season... Yesterday summed it for me... i though Richie was more effective in his wide role because he was more willing to mix it up... he gave Gomez a far harder time than Kulu gave Robertson... and he's not a natural wide player

Fair enough.... my point is he puts the ball in early from the left... doesn't always cut inside like Kulu

For me its not about switching flanks because a lefty will always come inside on the right and go outside on the left. It's about a natural sided player over lapping, then you have both L&R options on each flank.

But agree that the FBs do not overlap enough. That needs to happen more rather than wingers swapping IMO

We'd have been better off coming on the inside and getting a cross in, at least that way you might be able to get a corner out of it. Usually always the best way when defences are more compact, unless you're like a peak Bale or Robben and can cut in and score with a lovely curling effort.

I don't blame him but part of me felt Kulu was just trying to be the hero in the last minute again.

That was my whole point that Ange doesn’t want the wide men crossing the ball from, almost by definition the bye line, against a defence that is now in prime position to defend it.

Whether ange wants it or not.... my point was, it works. as per yesterday, the goal vs arsenal, july's goal vs bournemouth and the quick interchange to get the ball inside for the winner vs SU... it's not a criticism.... Spurs are doing great.... was just pointing out that a bit of variation could see us create more chances from the great positions we find ourselves in

posted on 1/10/23

IMO we were just a bit too eager and naive. They blocked up the centre of the pitch and we kept trying to go thru it.

It was obvious from both the goals we did score that we had to get behind it and pull the ball back because they won every header when we did get the ball into othe box.

That was actually the ideal game for Perisic left or Johnson right with his pace abd ability to go past the full back.

Still both were injured and we still got 3 points.

Not only that but we had the bonus of really pi$$ing the sky team and pools supporters off

The whole script of "brave liverpool" "outstanding tactics by klopp" etc. etc was totally negated.

As for Neville and his "it was not a red" he also said that the Romero penalty against woolwich should not have been given. He has started to believe his own press and to be honest is starting to look like a total idiot.

With practice I think more of our players will learn to read the pitch and go down the flank with the obvious overload option. Need to make this decision quicker

9 v 11
An offside goal chalked off
2 red cards
And a 96th minute own goal .....
And we played some good stuff .
Yet that was an amazing performance by spurs ....

And your lot players partied like ye won the world which is exactly the thing spurs fans mocked Liverpool for , for the west brom thing .

I like ange for the celtic connection but have a word with yourselves ....spurs are playing well , let's see where ye finish up ...No-one is beating city

And please stop with the livarpool comments ....disgracefully offside decision yesterday
