If/when we don't make the semi's then no one should be all that surprised to be honest.
The ECB stopped taking ODI's seriously once we won it and we've barely played any ODI cricket in 4 years. Then add in they've relegated the List A comp to effectively a counties 2nd XI competition due to the Hundred.
Not really a shock the players are no longer the best side in the world.
Must win game for both today

TBH no team has taken one dayers seriously since last world cup. You don't see may one day series anymore. It is more T20 series.
Yeah I can sadly see ODI's not being a thing in another after the next WC, which is a big shame as it's a good format.
Playing the Cricket World Cup in ODI format is a bit like playing the FIFA World Cup as a 7-a-side tournament.
I think they should make a new World Cup in Test format.
Sri Lanka have made a good start against Australia who are not having a great World Cup so far....
Good innings so far for Sri Lanka.
A big total possibility here.
Sri Lanka have collapsed.
Good recovery from aussies.
Am I missing something or most teams struggling in general to score plus 200 in this WC?
That's a good recovery by the Aussies tbf

Think there is more pressure when batting first cos its hard to predict a winning total. The wickets get better in the night to bat and with T20 if chasing a big total you just take game to 30th over and aim for 160 of 20 overs with wickets in hand.
The toss has far too many of an impact at times.
SL did opt to bat first today and still messed up

Makes sense. The humidity and dew won't help either I guess.
Easy win for Aussies. They are back in the hunt.
Never count out Australia, but a long way still to go.
Looks like being an easy win for SA against Netherlands today which would not be a surprise.
SA should still win but this won't be a straightforward chase now.
Excellent fightback from NL
Didn’t expect the Dutch to bat out this many overs after seeing them five down.
Been some awful bowling from SA, makes me a bit more confident for the weekend
