Beating City

Still too early to make any judgement tbh.
It was a really drab affair.

However Arsenal have got the monkey off their back, but city were without a few key players, but then again arsenal were.

City's dominance however is not due to one off games, but their ridiculous form usually in the second half of the season.

I dunno. I think there’s something different about this Arsenal side. They ran out of steam last year (possibly Saliba’s injury played a big part in that) but look to be back at it this season.

No disrespect to Spurs but I’m not sure you have the players to maintain this. BTW I’d rather see Spurs win the league over any of our big 6 rivals and Newcastle.

Don't think we'll win the league but it was a decent win. The ref was an utter disgrace and tried to facilitate a City win as best he could so us coming out on top was a seriously decent effort.

Still not convinced with this arsenal team process, they've been grinding out results and will see where they are but they are playing a lot poorer than last season for some reason trying to shoe horn the woeful havertz into the side.

Arteta looks to have learned from that as he seems to be dropping him a lot more.

Op, it's a shame you are so easily triggered.

Your teams top ffs... just try and enjoy it !

I’ve watched a few of the Arsenal games and in my view they playing worse than last year, aren’t scoring as many but to be fair look solid with lots of 1-0 wins. It’s almost back to the 80s/90s and the “1-0 to the Arsenal “

Yeah City are a machine.

Well they hadn’t beaten them since 2015 so it’s a big win really. A bit like ours against Liverpool, we hadn’t beaten them since 2017.

It's a good sign for Arsenal and maybe for us too to be fair. City are the dominant team in the league more capable than anyone else, you'd rather them drop points to have a chance at the league title.

For Arsenal themselves, beating them helps a lot cause it's basically a 6 pointer. I wouldn't be surprised if Arsenal's bottlejob last season has made them that more determined. Kind of like how Liverpool narrowly missed out on the league to them and then started the next season in unstoppable form, beating City 3-1 along the way.

Anyone beating City is a positive, means the best of the rest have a chance.

Sort of glad Spurs are top, I think if we were even 3 points clear the media would be calling us champions elect tbh and we'd have the same pressure as last season. Its better to be sitting just behind and let them hype up whoever has the best win each week

It's a good point really. Last season you were top for the majority of the season, then the pressure eventually told and you crumbled badly.

You can tell some fellow Spurs are feeling the pressure already like the OP for example. Triggered by the media and people like Piers Morgan.

Like Ange said, being top in October means F all.

If Spurs are to win the title, need as many sides as possible to be beating City. The fact that they have already lost two of their first eight matches is good for the league. Spurs beat City regularly, good that they are now proving to be beatable by other sides.

They also look distinctly average without KDB.

Great result for Arsenal. No two ways about it.

The worry for the league is City being within touching distance of first place come Christmas - their form in the second half of seasons is maddening. So for everyone’s sake the more they lose now the better

Spurs have beaten Man City no less than 9 times since Arsenal last beat them. That’s right, nine.

Unless you are only counting league for Arsenal and everything for Spurs that doesn't seem to be true at all.

People only try to tear others down like this when they're bricking it.

I don't blame you - you're Spurs, you're in unfamiliar territory temporarily, it's in your nature to fear success 👍

Yeah, 2 semi finals that led to trophy wins

Arsenal have beaten City twice in a row now.
Far too early to be talking about winning the league as there are 30 games to go.
It was a massive relief to get a win over City in the PL since 2015. The relief felt by Arsenal fans would have been similar to what Spurs fans after getting a win vs Chelsea after a dismal record against them for a long period
