I have been strongly against the GB for a long time. Their positives largely outweighed by the nonsense they bring

However, for this I am 100% beside them. The Palestinian people have been.thrown to their deaths for years. Now they are all classed as being Hamas.

Can you imagine the UK government barricading in the Catholic community because of the IRA?

If we can't speak out in support of basic humanity then who can? The West created Israel so will tell us all that Palestine are the enemy.

The board were happy to be political with Mandela, Ukraine etc yet hide behind their Chesterfield sofas now.

I'll have my Palestine flag at the next game. Had the board not released their statement then I wouldn't have bothered.

I'll also have my Union Jack with me.

Maybe it's up to the decent fans Ginger ,if you know what I mean !
----------------------------------------------------------------------

All the decent fans can do is register disgust and complain, but nobody in their right mind is going to start climbing over seats and windmilling it.

The next home game will be interesting but I live in hope more than belief that the board will throw them out for a couple of games.

Aye we leave it to the bears to scrap with each other in the stands.

Our lot tend to just stab 3ach other occasionally away from the ground 😂

Only idiots are equating all Palestinians with Hamas.

But that's the GB.

They've basically championed the weekend's terror attacks as something to be celebrated. It's insane. These attacks have just made life even harder for Palestinians.

You can show support for the Palestine cause without conflating it with these attacks, which the GB seem completely incapable of doing. They're fvcking morons.

I don't agree with Israel's response at all, indiscriminately bombing Gaza is abhorrent.. as is using Palestinian citizens as human shields.

It's a terrible situation for Palestinians to be in, they're at the mercy of two fundamentalist, authoritariam regimes.

I'd have had some sympathy for the GB if they had the brains or were tactile enough to release a statement saying they're in support of Palestinians but condemn the recent killings.. but no, they clearly endorse what happened.

Well, I for one have no idea exactly how Palestinians or Israelis feel about it other than what western press deliver and failed peace attempts over 60 or so years. I did see an Israeli interviewed who had his family kidnapped. He kept spouting about wanting to wipe Palestine from the map. Interviewer kept trying to bring him back to his family and he more or less just shrugged and seemed to indicate that was of lesser importance? That’s not right.

Neither is the kill ratio of 22:1 in the last 15 years. That is not proportionate in any conflict. Funded and supported by ‘the west’ so it’s a bit ironic to condemn the dog biting back. But our govs can’t help themselves. Any other place and the UN would be sent in.

Aye I find a lot of the Israeli government policies to be abhorrent in the last 50 odd years, very nationalistic, non-secular, and authoritarian. But then it hasn't been in isolation.. Arab states have 2anted them out of Palestine (what it was under Ottoman rule) since the inception of Israel. Just been hostility from both sides since the beginning and anytime a legitimate compromise has been drafted one or both sides has done everything to ensure it fails.

The one constant has been the Palestinian people who have been utterly shat on the entire time, since the Ottoman days. It's like a divorced couple arguing over the kids and neither listens to what the kids actually want or need.

Now it's further complicated with the geopolitical struggles/conflicts that are going on within the Arab states.. namely Iran v UAE and Saudi Arabia. Palestine is again just used as a chess board with no thought or care taken into consideration when it comes to the people living there.

It's they the GB stuff annoys me so much. You'd be hard pushed to find too many of them who have any idea about the intricacies and the history involved here.. they just see oppressed peoples and latch on to that cause with no consideration to the reality. It leads to moronic situations like last weekends banner and them refusing to acknowledge a fvcking terrorist attack because they want to show "solidarity".

They're honestly a bunch of fvcking idiots that unsurprisingly wind me up.

End of the day we aren't gonna solve it here and neither are the GB in their wee latch of the stadium.

I'm all for raising funds to send across bit at the end of the day they're gonna end up in the hands of Hamas who will misappropriate them.

It's a fvcking horrible situation.

I'm totally sick of these idiots.

i agree with what they are saying about the boards hypocrisy, and i'm dumbfounded by the reaction of elected officials and celebrities, "aww ma poor israel" while they kill innocent children.

it's gobsmacking, and the only difference i can see between what does and doesn't get their support is whether or not you are Arab.

That said, we need to be careful throwing support behind the green brigade, because they could end up coming out in support of Hamas and then we are all viewed that way.

i don't support Hamas, i support and end to the slaughter of innocent people by barbaric b@stards.

I suspect there’s also a bit of the story clarifying over the last few days about the Hamas atrocities. Going back to when they scribbled out the “victory” message, was there real clarity on what had happened? I’m not so sure. Stupidly they managed to not clarify this in their retort to the board, and again stupidly they didn’t distance from what it has been revealed was the extent of the Hamas attack.

Both them and the board are whanks of different flavours. But whanks nonetheless.

Sorry but this Barca thing and all that stuff is garbage. If the club want to take a photo of our stadium on a special occasion and sell it to people who want to buy it, then that's fine.

You'd think they'd made millions from it the way these clowns go on. I'd guess it was £10-£20k. It's the club's stadium that Fergus built and we all paid for.

They put up a crowd funded Tifo fFS.

As for the food bank, they stand outside for an hour and rattle some buckets. Fans put their money in. I'm fairly sure the money goes to food banks but how would you know? They're completely unaccountable.'

They can do it as often as they like. Nothing wrong with it at all.
You're one of the smartest posters on here. You don't believe that the club selling some posters or t shirts takes away their right to criticise the GB. Surely?

I've been against thos group since day 1. What I saw at Motherwell prematch only convinced me that I was right all along. They are no better than the Union Bears and their politics are only marginally better.
A bunch of stupid boys led by a few unelected, anonymous morons looking for trouble.
The police should be be dragging a lot more of them out there beds in the middle of the night.

They are the antithesis of everything that Celtic stands for.

They always have the right go criticise but i find them really hypocritical with it, when it suits them or they can make a buck its arms round them, part of the club behaviour.

I think they get a lot wrong, but do some good as well.

On this i agree with the sentiment, but think condemnation goes both ways. Shame it doesn't in the media or in politics

We'll have to agree to disagree then 🤣

I don't see any issue with the club monetizing anything that happens in and around the stadium. Good luck to them.

As for the hypocrisy angle, I don't buy it. The Irish stuff is part of the club and always will be.

Playing an innocuous deportation ballad like The Fields of Athenry is in no way comparable to supporting Hamas.

I saw some idiot saying that the club were hypocritical because they invited Ukranians to the shaktar game. Having refugee children from Ukraine being mascots in a match involving a team from Ukraine was a wonderful humanitarian gesture and totally in keeping with the ethos of the club.

Supporting sharia law across the Middle East, the ethnic cleansing of Christians and the destruction and burning of Catholic churches in Hamas and PA areas isn't.

And so nobody thinks I'm falling for propaganda, I've been to Israel 3 times. I doubt the GB could find Palestine on a map.

100% agree with the OP

The GB can fcking do one !!

"Now today's statement where they could have cleared it up and at least attempted to make the distinction between Hamas' actions and the wider Palestinian population"

this more than anything irks me !

They wouldnt dare condemn Hamas and their actions . The put out their opinions like it echoes the celtic supporters thoughts .

Heres a good idea , see whilst watching football why dont you keep your political statements and rants to yourself or fck right off!! B3llends
