I believe we're top six material, but based on how we're gelling as a team, not even close to catching Ipswich and Leicester. Ok, Leicester will carry on pulling away but this was the perfect chance to keep the pressure on Ipswich and we blew it.

I dont know if it was perfect chance, we could have nicked a win, but otherwise wasn't easiest of matches for us.
We have some decent players, am sure we'll do better than this moving forwards.
Struijk? What’s that little baby going to do ffs? Should be no where near being our captain… as if he’s going step up and question Bamford taking a penalty… joke

I hadn't mentioned Struijk, I've never thought he's all that and certainly not captain, but with so many new faces, there is little other choice on the pitch, which speaks volumes about leadership amongst the group.
I’d give Ampadu the captain’s armband and have done with it.
I was anxious about this and with good reason. Perhaps Farke just believes too much in his own hype, and forgot that the Championship is a slog from beginning to end. If we can't grind out results against a poor Stoke team, we are going nowhere fast. Ipswich and Leicester are miles ahead of us. As for PB, I believe a free transfer to Pedigree Chum is in order.
OK, can't wait for Batty's comments on Bamford !
End of the day surely the manager picks the order of penalty takers. No matter how good Bamford takes them in training his record of 5 from 9, missing his last 2 should have meant he was nowhere near that ball. He had the chance to be the hero by winning the penalty and the team scoring. He is desperate to do well for the club but common sense says don’t give the ball to a player who’s missed chances and penalty’s a plenty in recent times. We just played Salford and had was it 9 successful penalty takers under pressure?
Honestly I would have given the ball to Meslier before Bamford
Not long to wait to get this horrible game and result out of our memories and bounce gloriously back.... or not???
On form up to this game, Bamford has looked like a player who is completely bereft of confidence and fragile.
He needs to retire after (I think) losing us the game tonight. Score the pen and Stoke heads go down. Farke shores up the defence with little time left and we get three points.
When I saw Bamford clutching the ball before the pen, I just pulled my jumper over my head and said “no”. Knew he was going to miss. I could have taken the lack of goal if it was saved, but hitting it into row Z is his resignation letter for me. Not even on the bench now please!
I actually do think PB can be utilised successfully as a sub as he was tonight.... for about 120 seconds and then it all went to pot because he was unbelievably allowed to take the penalty he won for us.
That calamitous decision to allow Bamford to be given that huge pressure game clinching moment will obviously never ever happen again at Leeds but like I said he can be an asset as an impact sub and if he comes on and scores the winner or adds to our goal tally in a convincing victory on Saturday the mood and very negative vibe around him will lift considerably.
I can't remember another Leeds player that has had so much toxicity attached to him. Irrespective of the gutting disappointment at losing tonight as a direct consequence of that missed pen on a human level you would hope for his sake that his fortunes on the pitch for Leeds improve because it's quite uncomfortable and tragic to observe now.
OK, can't wait for Batty's comments on Bamford !

I must agree with all of that!
Watched it on record after work. Thought that;
* We started so slowly again. Expected us to grow into it and dominate like we did at Hull and Millwall away, but we didn't really hit the heights we're capable of. Keeper barely had anything to do bar a few tame efforts straight at him.
* Stoke didn't do anything second half, neither side deserved to win it for me.
* Big talking point has to be Bamford taking the penalty. Yet another big miss in a big moment. I was livid he was about to take it v Newcastle and was equally miffed tonight. Rutter, Ampadu, Summerville, ANYONE has to take that spot kick. We scored 7/8 of them at Salford so we know they can net them. Struijk needs the armband taking away as he has no business (Like against Newcastle) to let out of form Bamford take that at a crucial point in the game. He HAS to step up and say no, he's not taking it. Hope that's a lesson learned going forward for Farke too.
* Wtf is Piroe doing playing at 10. FFS put Rutter there. He's an absolute handful who can thread balls like through the eye of needle. They're back to front imo.
* Gruev is plucky and is a tidy player, but off the ball looks and battles like a lost schoolboy.
* Must win on Saturday. Said it plenty of times already, weve thrown/throwing too many points away for 2nd spot, Boro are 6 from 6 and are catching us, as are Saints. We're sound for top 6 and can still get 2nd but ....
* Sign a frigging left back in Jan and stop playing Gray at RB.
I actually don’t agree that we might have deserved a point. In my opinion, we got exactly what we deserved. Nothing.

Piroe has shown absolutely nothing to suggest he could be a number 9.

I agree with you, Light - if we’d come away with even a point it would have been harsh on Stoke. We got exactly what we deserved and that’s the worry - we have probably the best squad in this league yet we are so incredibly inconsistent. Once again we’ve given a leg-up to a poor side struggling at the foot of the table.
Baffling and infuriating in equal measures. Equally baffling and infuriating is the fact Farke chose not to put out his strongest team - leaving Summerville and James on the bench is baffling. Did he explain this decision in his presser?
Well at least we now know the answer to the question "can they do it on a cold midweek night game at Stoke"

Team isn't good enough and now the manager is proving not good enough, complete shambles.
Having won the penalty you can understand him wanting to take it... but dang it its side before self and he shouldn't have taken that
Said it before, piroe is a luxury player. Rutter is playing really where he is, the talk shouldn't be dropping Rutter from 9 and moving him to 10, it should be about dropping piroe and playing a proper number 10
Calm down everyone, this is a rebuilt team with a new manager still coming together. We are a little more than a quarter way through the season. Farke will make mistakes and so will the players. It is time to take Bamford out of the squad. You can see that he is a disruptive influence. There is no humility about him and he does not have any friends among the new players. Struijk did not have the cojones to stand up to a senior player. Farke is still working out his best team and the truth is, we haven’t seen it yet. He clearly doesn’t know our best eleven, otherwise, why would he be chopping and changing? We can look fantastic in moments, but we can’t deliver a controlled performance over a series of games. We have to give Farke time. We have to give Bamford his P45.

And there is no way, the captain should be taking a pen off a player, mid match.
