McKenna has done an incredible job taking Ipswich up from league 1 to possible PL promotion.

I disagree with Kieran McKenna being a manager. Getting dangerously close to being our age lads. That should be illegal. The first rule of being a manager is that they are older than you.

Maybe in 5-10 years. Let them learn their craft.

Yeah I think McKenna is the one to look out for, as well a
as Carrick has done. Ipswich already look like certs to get automatic promotion this year along with Leicester, so will be interesting to see how he does in the PL.

If it's anything like player recruitment we'll be after some Dutch cant who ETH has worked with before.

Think we’d be better off with Paul McKenna at this stage so he can hypnotise these waaaankers into remembering how to play football.

I like Carrick better. He's a manager who gets the players working their hardest. He may need someone who is more tactical but I like how he thinks

McKenna was ridiculed as one of Oles supply PE teachers by a large section of United fans.

Carrick would obviously be a great fit as a United manager one day.. but he needs to prove his credibility to take on such a job first.

Tbh the time of high experienced managers has passed for me. Gary o'Neill seems more appealing to me than most these days. I want someone who wants to prove himself.

Way too soon for either to mange United but both have done very good jobs especially McKenna.

His segment on Sky Sports the other day was quality, they need this sort of stuff more often was great to see.

Criticism that was unfairly leveled at him.

Carrick started well last season though this season has struggled a bit as he lost players from last year

I'll add that right now, would be a wrong move for either. Once the footballing operations have, then it might be a better idea. Right now then way we run that side of things is built for failure no matter who comes in.

Boro have lost five and I think that was in their first half dozen games or so. Very similar to last season.

Something is going wrong there in August for sure.

ETH is likely going to get chopped, I don’t know about calling it a day

It was bad with no style and dependant on moments. In saying that we are the same outfit now I see hardly any difference

Carrick only took over in October last season after a horrendous start under Chris Wilder and turned things around immediately
Don’t know what went wrong at the beginning of this season but he seems to have put it right pretty quickly

This.

It’s pretty much been the same since LVG left and it’s baffling.

The problem with LVG’s style is that it was dreadful and we were relying on a declining Rooney to play CF.

To manage a club the size of Utd you need an ego and you need the players respect.

That's difficult with no prior success.

I think we were a quality creative player and Striker away from being successful under LVG. Won a cup, only missed out on the CL to City on GD and he had to rebuild fergies squad.

Agreed but to this day LVG was the one manager I thought we should have stuck with. I saw what he trying to do, when ADM came we had a little spell where we looked very good. LVG is not a stupid man, there's a reason he wanted likes of Mane, who would've taken that possession based football up a notch.

Yes but he sort of neglected those areas and kept faith with his captain.

The FA cup win was a little like all of our trophies post SAF, we got the rub of the green in the draws.

Yes we only missed on a CL on GD but it was with 66 points.

He failed after a promising 1st season.

In all this I see only one problem. We have always gotten pretty good managers, we've always lacked good addition of players.

He lost a few key players at the end of the season (GK was on loan and they couldn't replace him and the main attacker was sold) and it has taken some time for the players that have come in to adapt.
