People underestimate how much of an impact Gill leaving the club had on us. In some ways he really was the perfect chairman.

It's not helpful to take random quotes from current managers and use them against him.
We really need to just stop mentioning Fergie fullstop tbf. I don't think it does anyone any good.
Even comparing Fergie's first 5/6 years and him almost being sacked isn't helpful. Football has massively changed since the 80's. Football manager at elite clubs mainly only get 5/6 years if they are successful these days. That's just how it is.
It’s not helpful to in anyway shape or form compare ETH to SAF, we have the manager we deserve for being outdone by City and Pool for Pep and Klopp.
Of course it's helpful, it shows how even a Fergie team would have been affected by the same injuries and player problems ETH has to put up with.
And how much better if he had a David Gill equivalent.

Very difficult to say but there is an argument deviation from football centric focus to just milking the cash cow started as soon as the Glazers took charge, maybe both SAF and Gill in particular had enough and wanted to part company.
Both are held in high esteem, both have remained silent in the direction the football is heading, which I find bizarre.

A win away from having the best overall win ratio during his tenure! Fine margins.
A swallow does not make a summer. We are going through a bad run of results, the team is missing Martinez and Shaw pretty badly and having to contend with the loss of Casemiro's form and disappearance of Sancho's services. We have so many others who are failing the team that you can't but feel sorry for Eth. This is nothing new, this group is very good at letting the club down.
