Postecoglou Urges Early January Business.

We have a new scouting team in place, so hopefully they hit the ground running, and identify targets quickly.

This January transfer window could be crucial.

posted on 4/11/23

it would be nice if we could manage to get a CB deal agreed before the window is open, like Liverpool did with Van Dijk iirc.

We already know that we need one, and with Perisic's injured for the season he can be unregistered so it's not like we need to wait for a squad place to become available again

Whatever it is we need, identify early and push for them as soon as the window opens.

And surely be working in the background with the players we need to offload.

Plenty foreign spaces can easily open up so it’s no excuse this January.

Although saying all that in really tempted to see what Dorrington could do.

I also want a top LW this jan. midfield is fine till the summer

posted on 4/11/23

So what does the Aussie wonder say he wants?
Does he list any positions, or particular players?
Getting a replacement for Perisic is a tall order, he was a one-of-a-kind player.

CB. Maybe a LB. CM if Hojbjerg goes. LW if there's a good one going cheap. Sancho loan?

And please transfer Ndombele to Burger King

And so the first test of Levy begins, will the bald khunt do what is necessary or will we spend all window faaaacking about as usual.

Don't think Levy is involved with the football side anymore, why buy a dog and bark yourself?
It's down to the new guys now.

If you believe that you’ll believe anything. That facking snooker ball head half pint will be sat there grasping his wallet with an iron grip right up til deadline day hoping to get a few nicker off whatever players our scouts might have identified weeks earlier

Yes

They will have to put Levy in a straight jacket before he opens his wallet out at the start of the transfer window...Levy will try to huggle andd then find a cheaper alternative while the windows runs down

The Aussie man will be disappointed sadly.

It will be more of the same, Levy won`t change for anyone. If top 4 is looking under threat in January, then Levy will probably strengthen, if we are looking safe in the top 4 he will probably stand still unless something falls in his lap.

If we are still up there with a sniff of a title challenge, Levy won`t be investing to have a proper go, the bloke is trophyphobic, he knows how to temper expectations, start winning silverware and the fans will be even more demanding than they are already.

Levy out.

It's great having a manager come out and say the business needs to be done early, and not just that it needs to be done. The timing of signings has been a frequent issue with Spurs and it is inherently a Levy thing.

There are probably like 3 or 4 games during the Jan transfer window before you get to the deadline so the longer it's left, obviously the less impact they'd be able to have in those games.

Levy needs to spend and can't take all window haggling over getting a deal 1 or 2 million pound cheaper. He's been told by Ange, the ball is in his court. It could be as important as dictating whether we win the league or not.

Everytime the Khunt is on the brink he strikes managerial gold. Ange will probably get us CL the next 3 years before he gets bored with the Levy imposed glass ceiling at the club

This will be Levy's chance to learn from previous mistakes and show us he's turned a corner. We know he's willing to spend when things have gone poorly, but not so much when things are going well and we want the extra push to do more than simply finish in the top 4.

We should at the least be identifying targets already.

True, if it's a significant injury. We already dropped points in the league to Brentford and went out of the cup thanks to direct contributions from Sanchez. Although Dier is at least a bit more capable than Sanchez when his head is screwed on, but it's still a major risk. Maybe Phillips would do a better job as back up?

Wouldn’t want to risk Phillips at this point. Jarrod Braithwaite from Everton, Guehi from Palace - that’s what we need, that sort of level.

Eze up top to give us Maddison cover as well as other positions

Would love to see us drop £120m on these lads

Good god no, not Dier. He’s far too slow and technically incompetent on the ball to play Angeball. Ange picked Sanchez ahead of him when we lost Romero because Sanchez - despite being horrific on the ball - at least had pace.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see us move for Lloyd Kelly at CB as apparently his data matches what we want, and ex-Celtic Jota back from Saudi.
