don't think anyone is saying we should just punt high balls, but you're more likely to keep the opponent guessing if you do something other than pass it sideways and back.
finally, celtic have played 17 games this season, i think its ok after that many games to suggest a player isn't playing well, he isn't immune.
pumped.... up yeez.
Never a red. shocking decision, VAR seemed to make every attempt to make the "tackle" as bad as it could possibly look and very little footage of it looking as innocuous as I thought it was. Very harsh. I woulda been raging if that was given against us.

Granted that Celtic was down to 10, but did anyone expect a different outcome? Sadly, Scottish teams have proven that the Scottish PL is sub-par and has been for many years! This issue needs to be addressed or many more humiliations are in the future.

There hasn’t been a lot of thought put into this post. Either that or the intended message has been lost in translation.
Yes we did expect a different outcome. We don’t expect players will be sent off on the basis of a single (and misleading) camera angle. We were doing ok until then.
Did we expect to win? Of course not. But 6-0, whisky many might have wished for it; it wasn’t expected.
Anyways.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Ginger,
I will re-iterate my points and will refrain from personal attack.
- Anyone who expected Celtic not to lose this game is somewhat delusional! Admitedly a 6-0 loss is unacceptable! Celtic does not have the required skill players to compete at this level.
- Fortunately, for Celtic and Scottish football, many on this board openly realize this fact.
- Also, we have the usual folks who look for someone, or something to blame....the Board, McGregor, Joe Hart, Rodgers etc. etc.
- The root cause of the problem is the Scottish FA. They are not doing their job in trying to develop AND retain local talent. They are not "selling" the Scottish PL as an attractive place to play football. Maybe they are right? The English PL is miles ahead of them on this issue. Why are very few foreign stars playing in this league? Why such a dearth of successful foreign Coaches/ Managers? Having more foreign talent in this league would also inspire local managers and youth development! Is the Board simply happy with the status quo? ie: Letting Celtic and Rangers run the show?
Sometimes asking tough questions is more painful than a 6-0 DEFEAT!
I rest my case! Good luck to you!
Saw Maedas red today and it is as soft as you will see IMO.
On the more general VAR question, it without doubt has ruined many aspects of the game and taken so much joy and excitement out of it.
VAR now examines every challenge forensically and instead of judging a tackle overall in the context of the game or the situation it seems to be desperately hunting for a single frame or angle that can justify a red card.
Same with handballs. Couple that one with the ridiculously confusing and nonsensical handball rules themselves and we are in a bit of a mess. Defenders facing up to attackers in the box with both hands clutched behind them is one of the most unnatural and despairing developments of our game. Utter nonsense.
Then there is offside. For me if it is not clear that a player is offside or not within 30 seconds then the advantage goes to the forward and the goal stands.
The essence of these rules - particularly the handball and offside rules seems to have been totally lost. The law makers need to revisit the reasons these laws were brought in in the first place and start over because they have morphed into something completely different and are ruining the game.
Handball was brought in to stop players who decide to cheat and use their hands when they shouldnt. It wasnt introduced to punish accidental handballs when players are legitimately trying to use their feet to block a cross or shot.
Offside was brought in to maintain a sensible shape to a game of football and to stop forwards hanging around the opposition box whilst the ball was up the other end. It wasnt introduced to prevent a striker having his shoulder 1cm in front of the last defender as the ball is put in during an attack.
Its utter nonsense now.
VAR simply cannot continue as a parallel refereeing of a game which seems hell bent on finding the tiniest reason to send players off or for awarding penalties or for disallowing goals.
It should be there to help the ref to identify clear and obvious oversights only.

How do you think companies attract this talent?
This is going to sound absolutely mental I know, but we pay players what we can afford (not that much), and that tends to determine the players and coaches we can attract.
The Scottish Premiership isn't in the top 20 leagues for wages paid, let alone top 5-10.
Celtic & Rangers are outliers and that's why they're still able to occasionally attract occasional 'foreign stars', before they're inevitably picked off by clubs earning more from TV revenue.
The EPL being miles ahead might be due to the fact that they get given billions a year, whereas the Scottish Premiership earns around £30m a year.
