If memory serves, United tend to not sack managers until top 4 is unachievable.
I reckon Ten Hag should stay even for no other reason than what's the point bringing in a new manager now when the ownership issue is up in the air. May as well leave him there whilst there's a mess above and allow any potential new guy the luxury of starting with a clean slate and be the obvious choice of the new regime. They could also give Ten Hag a year under their stewardship to turn things round.
The new manager will bring back Sancho, which is like getting a new £70m signing, so that negates the cost

And when he reinstates Maguire as captain, that's basically another £80m right there. So £150m recouped just like that.

Luton are facking awful so we may see that sooner rather than later
Until a takeover / partial takeover happens, its business as usual at the club, as Arnold confirmed and we saw in the Summer window.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the club are sounding out potential replacements about their availability.
Yes, Shaw and Martinez are big misses, but how much of a difference would they have made to our achievements this season? Maybe top 4 would look more likely, but would that be good enough?

Manchester United, the world's most loyal football club.
Bayern, Real Madrid, City - teams we want to have the same sporting success as - would have gotten rid of him a long time ago. The results speak for themselves.
On another side? What makes us United? Well.. Ferguson has a large part of the credit for the success we've had and he wouldn't have been (read sacked) there if we had followed the principles of other clubs.
It's ETH's responsibility now to ensure the players build on the positive aspects of last night's performance, rather than getting discouraged by the turn of events. We'll see how they do.
