The only positive last night is it’s another defeat, so closer to ETH eventually getting sacked.
I’m half hoping Luton don’t lose to us so he has to go.

Too many players in the team panic, pressure overwhelms them, too many are are just not good enough in key areas like defence. Individual errors cost us last night, the effort was there, the application was there until the red card.
In the second half we appeared to control things, even a man light, and looked more likely to score. But again lack of focus led to another meltdown and flurry of goals.
Sad to say this but we look so much better with Evans in the team, says a lot about the rest. Maguire also plays better with Evans, they have a good understanding. Time is also ripe to get rid of Varane and Dalot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So passing it around between Maguire, amrabat, dalot, and awb for 25 mins means we looked likely to score?
What world do you live on mate? Obviously not this one.
Come on 52, you have to have some idea of what subs he could have made.
On another thread I suggested that Amrabat (for Eriksen) should have been ready to get on the pitch as Rashford was walking off.
You have to sacrifice your most luxury player in this instance. We just had too long to hang on until half time.
We kinda did that from 2nd half, but conceding 2 goals after Rash was sent off is just ludacris
-------------
Yep. All we had to for the remainder of that second half was Get Back! And defend!
Tactically he's a lot poorer coach than I thought he was. He doesn't make subs at the right times, his team selections leave me puzzled at times and he doesn't read games well at all either.
We have started the long goodbye now. He's a dead man walking.
Just look at some of the away games we have between now and Christmas.
Everton, Galatasaray, Newcastle, Liverpool, Westham.....
We will be lucky to win 2 of those.

Us having Maguire and Evans as our main cb partnership is enough for me to say goodbye Eth.
It's like weghorst all over again.
On what planet was weghorst a good idea. The same planet that Johnny Evans was a good idea.
I tend to agree.
Who do we turn to though? That's the real conundrum.
I think we could easily lose another 5 games in all comps between now and Christmas day looking at the fixtures. No chance he is making it to Easter at this point let alone August.

Fk knows.
Varane is a quarter of the player he was at Madrid. We have terrible options all over the pitch. Our two best defenders players are injured, Shaw and Martinez. Our new keeper is absolutely hopeless - To be fair Shaw isn't exactly a top top player either. He's a good one, but we could do better.
Awb is bang average too, dalot is even worse.
Our midfield consists of eriksen, casemiro, mct and Bruno, none of them would get into any other top club.
Our forwards, Antony, martial, both absolutely pathetic players.
Hoilund the jury is still out.
Rashford the best of a bad bunch but even he's garbage at the moment.
Honestly can't see this mess fixed for another 10 years at least
Get rid of the the has beens and build a young exciting team and accept the rollercoaster that will come with it. They will make mistakes.
Don't see any other solution now.
Said this a few times now but ive lost trust in Eth.
However, personally I hope the club keeps him and we end up knocked out of every cup, and in the bottom 10 of the PL, for a couple years in a row.
This mess can't be fixed by new managers. It needs to be fixed by us failing hard, glazers losing money, the owners fackingg off finally, and new owners come in and reset the place from top to bottom.
The only manager I see that could potentially fix this is Pep, noone else comes close. But him coming to OT would never happen in a million years.

Honestly have no idea what people are watching sometimes. Its like they are lying to themselves so much that they believe it to be true. We barely attacked their goal in the second half. Yeah we kept the ball, on the half way line and slightly in our own half. Big wow.
So many times mct had the ball and had space to run into to go forwards and he just turned around and passed to Maguire or someone.
We really need a midfielder who knows how to dribble the ball and fking keep it, someone like Pedri would be amazing.
What made me furious at one point, maguire under no fecking pressure at all, just hoofs the ball out of play.

I really don’t know what to make of us at the moment I currently distrust the manager and players in equal measure and that’s before I even start to think about the Glazer debacle.
No chance Erik is getting sacked right now even if we lose to Luton, who would make the call with the ownership mess we are in, it’s starting to look like only the top 4 will get Champions league qualification and I just cannot see us achieving that, I think only at this point is he in serious jeopardy with lots more pain to come before then.
Glass of Cote Du Rhone in hand luxuriating in a 2-0 lead last night seems on a distant fanciful memory now after Being pulled back into our dark reality.

Where i blame the manager is how we crumbled the minute (literally) something went against us.
Conceding two goals straight after points to a severe lack of confidence.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In isolation I wouldn't say we crumbled at the end of the first half. Just unfortunate with a few things. Their first goal could easily have been given offside and the penalty (as was ours) we a bit harsh IMO.
These things aren't in isolation though as they do keep happening.
Then, after playing well in the second half and deservedly going ahead again we concede two pretty comical goals to lose the game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think we did tbh. Don't forget, they hit the bar too before the two quickfire goals when they probably should have scored. It was 10 men, looking like 7 men in terms of gaps in that period before the break.
We did rally in the second half but I think we all knew the individual errors would come if we sat back too much and that's exactly what happened
