Much happiness in the new home, Heb and Mrs Heb xx
What we've learned from playing in this league is that pretty football on its own is not enough (unless the opposition is foolish enough to try to out-football us, eg Pboro and Nhampton). Yesterday, for the first time, we played as I imagine PW wants us to play - fast, incisive football laced with lots of pressing and aggression and yes, plenty of crosses. In spite of all the talk of having a pressing team, yesterday was the first time we have actually seen it from Derby. There is no doubt that this approach must continue otherwise the Stevenages etc will bully us into submission. Barnsley had no answer to the relentless second-half pressing and aggression backed up by some great wing play.
It has to be said that for the first time we had a bit of luck for a change - the penalty was not cast-iron and nothing really went right for Barnsley, not that I care of course. But I've always believed that in football you make your own luck by constant effort backed by some talent. If we can continue with this approach then our fortunes will change rapidly.
Meantime lots of good fortune this time around for Mr and Mrs Heb!
It was a hugely enjoyable game. I thought that for the first time we looked like a team that might actually be in with a shout of success. I hope that's a benchmark performace that becomes the norm not the exception.
I found Warne to be curiously downbeat in his interview. Maybe he just wants to keep everybody's feet on the ground but I expected him to be more fulsome in his praise for the display. I wonder if he has felt a bit chastened by some of the criticism. Maybe he reads this forum! It does feel as though the Shrewsbury game was a bit of watershed. From what we gather some strong words were said in the dressing room. He sounds as though he has lost a bit of his spark lately which is a bit ironic as we have played a lot better recently. Maybe it occurred to him that the jokiness about coffee, bobble hats and mugs for scoring wasn't going down well with everybody. Or, more likely, I'm just reading too much into it.
To be fair Vidal, he has recently changed his choice of bobble hat ...
You're right Vidal, if he cuts down the puerile jokes and sticks to a back 4 we will do well. But I have a sneaky feeling that he can't wait to go to a back 3/5.
I enjoyed the game and thought we played well. Nice to see Forsyth score!
I'm happy to take credit for Fozzy's goal. When he took up his position in front of where I sit after half time I gave him the full "COME ON FOZZY!!!!" which he duly acknowledged with a polite wave. It seems certain that this gave him the extra spring in his step that caused him to latch onto Cashin's flick. You're welcome, everybody.

Coco the clown, who I see has just resigned after 6 defeats from eight matches.
I would rather Phil Warne with his hat to cover a bald head, and an incentive mug for the players and a light hearted smile than any of those dummies.
Any time now you'll be calllng him about the colour socks he wears. wrong make of trainers, not shaving, you are all getting to be like the alien from numty.
Just tell me what you really got against the man, because I can't see what you're seeing.

I like to think that there is a wider readership - or at least awareness of the vital forum. Just hope Warne ignores some comments or would have resigned by now! π
UT - I am a full Warne IN and always have been. At least to the end of this season. I also like the fact he keeps the Mega Store in business with his rotation of headgear.
I can see that in reality we should have anything between 6 and 12 points more than we do and success breeds momentum and confidence. Just look at Oxford and Stevenage! As soon as Spart can stop their momentum we'll be fine.
However, I accept that alternative views are available and it's OK for them to be wrong

I know I shouldn't be saying this on this thread, but where else can I put it, can someone tell me why three hundred thousand people march in London, with banners supporting terrorism and calling for Jihad but the only people arrested were people protesting against that March. Am I missing something.
Where else can you put it ? π€

1. I have never ever criticised Phil Warne.
2. Ask Sue Ellen about the march, she has not got much on these days.
3. If I say anything else I will get into trouble.
Stick it in the Daily Mail with all the other EDL/Tommy Robinson supporters.
(and just to be abundantly clear because I know what will addressed, no UT I don't support Hamas nor their actions. Nor do I support the racism spouted from the those 'lads' out there defending the land.
This is about driving that divide. C.ovid did it and now the Propaganda War is doing it.
Covid was a propaganda war in itself.
Ultra nationalist group 'defends' monument erected to commemorate those lost in wars against ultra nationalists?
UT, get someone to turn off your irony filter. ππ»
British people aren't at risk from those defending the monument but look ahead, what's happening now, in a few years time what it will be like, i dread to think,
