It's about being in control of your actions. It's why we're seeing lots more red cards as VAR can pick up on these when a referee can't in real time due to human error, the pace of the game, and the amount of action the ref has to have eyes on.
It's the same with rugby at the moment. There trying to make each game safer for the players and prevent injury, often long term injury.
How many great players have had their careers ruined by injury over the years.. Loads. R9 is the prime example, he was shades of the player he was before that second knee injury. Look at all the dementia cases as well.

The challenge looked bad on TV but that doesn't capture how bad it really was.
He was going at full speed and ran from quire a distance away. Knew exactly what he was doing and should have got a red and a lengthy ban.

Knew exactly what he was doing?
Your saying he went in to headbutt Kyogo? I don’t think so

I don't think he intentionally went in to headbutt Kyogo, I just think he didn't care if it happened or not.. he definitely went in with the intention of clattering him to get to the ball.
No different to a two footed lunge. Players need to be in control of their actions and not should recklessly endanger an opponent. It's not the 90s or earlier anymore where less talented players would "leave one on" a more able opponent. I'm glad it isn't, the game is far better, faster, and more skilful for it making it more entertaining to watch.

He knew there was a strong chance of seriously injuring an opponent. If you shoot into a barrel of fish there's a good chance you'll shoot a fish even if you don't aim directly at one.
He used excessive force and endangered his opponent at the same time. The guy is reckless at best outwith that challenge, and I’m as certain as I can be that he went into get the ball and at least leave one on Kyogo.
I seriously doubt there’s any other league where that would have been anything other than a red card. Comparing it to the challenge on Danilo is spurious at best. The St Johnstone player should have been booked, but it’s nowhere near the same.
There's your Suella Beasterman been sacked.

Now for peak entertainment as she loves grenades at Sunak and his Government for the next few months.
I see David Cameron is back in as foreign minister as soon as they give him his peerage. Exactly why the unelected House of Lords needs to abolished. Funny to hear so many people claim that Britain is now a classless society when we've got stunts like this being pulled in 2023.

Disgusting.
The psychopaths spunked billions on wasted PPE and Track and trace, probably north of £50Bn, and wee Truss wiped £50Bn off the UK economy. But yes, blame the poorest and sickest in society..

I dont think the stupid coont knows the time of day but 100% he took an opportunity to clatter Kyogo !
Its reckless and its extremely dangerous , the responsibility is on him as its him thats making the challenge .
" he played the ball " should not overide the fact he was seriously endangering an opponent with his stupidity

These challenges can only be eliminated by a heading ban. Coaches always wanting aggression. Difficult to control what an opposing player will do or how fast the ball comes down or think rationally about pulling out at the last second.
Juke mentioned rugby and they are taking a very hard line and rightly so given the later life implications.
