Two unelected Prime Ministers and now we have an unelected Foreign secretary as he isn't an MP.
Don't you just love democracy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The PMs were all standard procedure, I'm sure Brown succeeded Blair in a similar scenario.
At least Truss was voted for by Tory members though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What's less acceptable is successors who have become PM going against manifesto commitments on the basis of which the electoral mandate was given to the Conservative party.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This. Truss and Sunak, for differing reasons, have veered away from the promises made in 2019. It's disgusting really.
Sunak tore into Cameron's policies during a recent speech. Now he's his Foreign Secretary. Sunak is in full panic mode. Since taking over he has tried to appeal to potential Reform UK voters, now he's pulling a uturn and trying to move to the centre. The polls have badly spooked him and his advisors.

Some of the things she comes out with bearing in mind her background and that of her parents. Good riddance.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure what her parents being from India has to do with anything?
Her mother was a Tory councillor and ran to become an MP.
Her husband is Jewish and an Israeli, they actually lived in Israel and have family members fighting in the IDF.
Her views are hardly striking because her parents were immigrants, and her mother, an NHS nurse, would qualify under any immigration policy Braverman supports.
She makes sensationalist headlines and deserved to be fired, but let's not pretend she came from a downtrodden background and has forgotten her roots just because she's not white.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I didn't know that her husband was Israeli. That explains it. She has every right to be pro-Israel but she has allowed her own personnel emotions get in the way by thinking everyone who supports peace for non Hamas related Palestinians is being an anti Semite, when of course we all know that isn't the case.
Some of the scenes this weekend were appalling. What she did was not all that different to when Trump ramped up his loony right wing mob to storm the Capitol building.
She was so unfit for purpose it was unreal. I'm delighted she's gone and hopefully we never have to see her face again.
Lee Anderson next please!

Her parents, although of Indian origin, actually came from Mauritius and Kenya. They were economic migrants and Suella Braverman is a hypocrite because she wants to reduce the ways other economic migrants can enter the country.
Her mum may just have got in under current rules (questionable as she was 18 years old, so wouldn't be a qualified nurse, entry level positions might not meet the earning threshold and likely wouldnt have been able to afford the tuition fees for education). Her father likely wouldn't have got in as he worked for a housing association - not likely to get a visa.
She is the classic pull up the ladder behind you type of politician and on top of that is one of the nastiest people in politics.
Anyone on here still gonna vote Tory?
She also looks like one of the rats from Chicken Run.

The tories will be nailed on to win the next peloton
The slow painful demise of the Tories sinking towards a trouncing at the next Election.
They just need to call an election now, and get put out of their misery once and for all. Hanging on will not help them, probably make it worse.

The electorate did vote for a party. Again it's all pretty standard within the parameters our parliament outline.

If they had anything about them, they'd have called a general election 6 months ago and handed the shieeetshow to Labour.
Things wouldn't have been much better (I mean, war, furlough bills, interest rates, inflation) under a Labour rule and in 4 years they'd be back in.
You can't say what she said in the woke capital of the world and expect to get away with it. She pressed the cancel me button one too many times. Didn't seem like a nice person, but she was one that said what a lot of people are thinking on certain subjects. Was only a matter of time.

who cares? this country is finished. because of the left..its what they want. The left are fake.. the kind of people that say they care and the peel of a scab.
I hope Labour get in and have even more uncontrolled immigration.to the point of the country going bankrupt
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Where the fk have you been for the past 13 years? The Country has been ruined with "Austerity" ie steal from poor to pay rich, Brexit, where are the sunny uplands, Boris being the self serving karnt he's always been and now the midget Sunal handing out oiland fracking contracts to his wife and father in law. This has ruined the economy, NHS, Water cleanliness, workers rights to name a few but you carry on with your ignorant belief that the party in power is not responsible for this sht show and the opposition who have no influence at all have caused this.

This desperate last throw of the dice by u-turning from the right and trying to move to the centre is doomed to fail, as the Tories will start tearing chunks out of each other as the loonies on the right won't be happy.
The remaining months will be spent implementing a scorched earth policy to try to fack the incoming Labour government.
She could have fought for her job, but she didn't have the chin to take it.
