Does this give us any indication how severe Citys punishment could be?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I’d imagine relegation for both us and Chelsea if we’re found guilty of all the charges.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Vanarama league for both of you. It's where cheats belong.

If Everton go down they are in real financial trouble.
With the debts of the stadium they could be majorly, real possibilities of bankruptcy
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah. Owners can pay the debt, plus parachute payments and money from sales / released players would see them safe.
City $hitting themselves now.

City will not be punished
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Of course they will. 115 charges can't all be wrong. Most probably are correct.
They won't get the punishment they deserve though but they will still get something hefty. If Everton get 10 PTS City must be worried. 😂
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They won’t be any more or less worried than they were yesterday. If City are found guilty of all of it, they’ll be bigger repercussions than just relegation.
I think it's unlikely, but if either City or Chelsea were found guilty and the punishment was expulsion from the PL, would the Football League be obliged to accept them?
Plenty of Football League clubs will have been in the PL whilst the financial skulduggery was going on and might feel wronged. Would they have a say on having to accept them into league?
There’ll be, that should have said

There’s also the question of the possibility of getting sued by Burnley, Southampton, Leicester and Leeds for a rumoured £100m apiece. Difficult times.

Not really. Still have titles over some points dropped
From a purely footballing sense you have to feel for Dyche and the players.
They finally start to put a few wins together and then they're hit with this.
Must feel like a real kick in the teeth, although of course it could also serve to fire them up (I'm pretty sure that will be the case for the United game, no matter what happens after that).

Punishing Everton like this doesn't affect the PL brand.
Punishing City and Chelsea will do so, however.
Less likely that either of those will be found guilty because of this.
All about the money.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think you are wrong about this. EFC broke FFP rules. I believe they tried to pass off some costs on to the covid impact and stadium but not justifiably, so were in breach.
City & Chelsea have, allegedly, made undisclosed payments to keep their FFP figures compliant. It's 2 offences, with the actual breach of FFP being the more minor of the 2.
Breaching FFP like EFC have is one thing. To lie and hide costs to make it look as if you have complied is a larger offence and one that undermines integrity far more IMO.

BBC report The club said it was "both shocked and disappointed" by the "wholly disproportionate and unjust" ruling.
How can the club call it disproportionate. They have breached rules which has given them a competitive advantage and last year they stayed up by 2 points, 4 the year before that.
This may have made all the difference in them staying up and others going down.
Bit like when WHU were punished for Tevez etc, relegated clubs may sue EFC on the basis that their cheating kept them up at their huge expense.

Yep. 10 points I'd for breaching.
Cheating to comply, and refusal to co operate should see far greater punishment.
If its just points deducted this season though, they could still finish 17th and it really not cost them a great deal
If city were going to get a ban it would have happened already.
Envelopes have been provided and the situation resolved
Slap on the wrist. Why are Everton getting away with this?
Not sure why Liverpool fans are gloating.
Having Everton in the PL is a guaranteed 4-6 points for Liverpool every season.
Should be a 74 point deduction for City then for the next 115 years. 74 point deduction gives them a chance at least to avoid relegation as they can get to 40 points.
Everton will be fine. even with -10, theyre 2 points from safety and playing well enough to get out of that hole.
Are you sure chelsea have? And not abramovich?
Will be interesting to know what the payments for chelsea and also the charges against city actually are.
Did Arsenal get punished for the George Graham bribes does anyone know?
