You'll crumble under the atmosphere. Hojlund will score though

Its completely out of our hands whether we qualify now or not.
If we win today we're on 6 points. If we beat Bayern we're on 9 but still Copenhagen could win and end up on 10 points.

We'll need a bit of luck that's for sure.

We will score early then get battered and hope they don't put away their chances. Just hope they don't have a better finisher than Everton. Checks, they have Icardi. We are doomed

If Copenhagen get to ten points from here then they deserve to go through.

True.

Even if they don't, we need the teams around us to drop points for us to have any chance. Bayern are already through so they may potentially play a weaker team against us and others?

If we don't come 2nd, I'd prefer if we came 4th

I think tonight we could get battererd.

But I dont think Erik will get the sack if we do.

United have had a decent period of late. Not great on the eye but getting results.

Galatasaray are completely average so I expect United to win but I also wouldn't be surprised to see United fail to deliver again.

These are choppy waters ahead indeed for ETH with this evening then Newcastle away and the dippers away on the horizon..

Past total capitulations are still fresh in the memory so it’s hard not to fear anything but the worst but then again I didn’t expect the win at Everton, the teams ahead now though are much higher quality than the toffee’s, Luton and Fulham.

I sadly think we will fold tonight. We left this group behind us at home to Gala and away to Copenhagen.

posted on 29/11/23

I don't think Gala are great and we created loads of chances against them at OT.

I know it's easier said that done but if we could put the crowd to the back of our minds then I think we should win.

We have got about 30% chance of qualifying at this point. That said, having not won in our last 3 visits to Gala, it is going to be tough.

Am I the only one who wants us to get Europa if we can't get through to the CL knockouts?

I know it can hinder us but surely having the Europa in the bank for February is better than not having it. What if we fall down the league and get knocked out of the FA Cup early. Could be a very dull end of season if we have nothing. It could be the saving grace! If, we are doing well in the league then we can adjust accordingly. I'm not saying we chuck the Europa games but we could select the team accordingly.

I'd rather be in the Europa. It gives us a chance to get in the CL if we fail in the league. Also, I think it gives us chance to play and develop some of the youngsters.

This will be difficult. Don't think we've won there in the last three attempts, not even scored a goal apparently.

OT but interesting to see how many people miss the early KO time and turn up late on the match thread .

As would I. If by some miracles we're in a title race by February then you use the Europa accordingly. I don't think it's a trophy, at this stage, we can turn our noses up at really. I want to see us win every game. Four points from these last two games should get us European football in 2024 so I'm going to be hoping for at least that.

I think tonight’s result is going to be moot as I don’t see us beating Bayern in our last game.

The sending off of Rashers goes to show how one moment can be pivotal in football.

If we win tonight I think a draw would do us against Bayern (unless there are some unusual results in the other matches). A draw at home against a team who have already won the group and who may not take it that seriously hopefully isn't out of the question.

Agree with the Rashford sending off. Think we win that game comfortably had he not been sent off.

If United win both of their games then it depends on how much effort Bayern put in against Copenhagen considering they will qualify top of the group regardless of the other results.
As usual with United in the league stage they will probably leave us waiting until the last few minutes of the final game. It would save a lot of fingernails if they lost tonight.
Galatasaray is a nasty place to have to get a win. Just hope for a good strong ref.

We'd have to win by two tonight for a draw against Bayern to be enough wouldn't we? (and also hope Copenhagen don't take 6 points of course)

Gala and Copenhagen can still end up on 5 points at the end, right?

Let's do the bare minimum!

we should have still won that game. 2-0 up with 10 men, should have parked the bus for the rest of the game. Worse teams have held on for longer with 10 men.

Malheureusement, I think we will get stuffed. We are missing Lissandro for these type of games.
But I sincerely hope that you are right and me wrong.
What's strange to me is that as a visitor Istanbul is so welcoming, but as a UK team so hostile.
What I would give for Irwin fullback and Keane midfield.

To be guaranteed to go through yes. However, we could still sneak through on GD with a draw in our last game unless Gala beat Copenhagen by three or win by two in a high scoring match.

I realise Copenhagen getting anything tonight puts a spanner in those works though!

Apparently it's been raining in Istanbul all day though so the pitch may not be great at all! Hopefully it'll dampen the crowd though!
