And we as a club gave him the time and patience to develop that consistency even then the errors were there. The kicking became so bad that he was assisting the opposition. Great shot stopper no doubt but a liability too, his time was up. Lack of clubs proves how poorly he is viewed at the top level.

Onana needs competition, either he steps up or is replaced.

He’d slipped concentration wise, and was making mistakes. But not as many as onana is. The point is, he was still better at the core stuff than onana has been. Onana looks very unorthodox, which is fine if it works. We’ve got a ball playing keeper, that should come in handy with ETH’s ball playing fluid system that we’ve yet to really see. He still needs to do the basic stuff well, and varies between great to absolutely abysmal. A keeper should be the rock the foundation is built on. DDG in past years was that, and ok, slipped over the past few, but onana has almost packed as much howlers in a tenth of the time.

His gloves were very jammy, so the ball stuck to them instead of slipping through them.

Maybe we need to invest in a jar of Robertsons?

Can't just blame the keeper tonight. We had more than enough chances to win that game! However, we are not mentally ready to be a last 16 CL team. We can't handle top class European teams. Look what City & Liverpool do to us most seasons!
